Your daughter has turned a year old today. How do you feel?
Time has flown by fast. It seems that my daughter was born just yesterday but now she is a year old.

Is this your first and only daughter?
Yes, that is the case till now.

What is your daughter's name and its meaning?
Her name is Meira, in Hebrew it means 'the one who brings light'. 

Isn't it confused with the Indian name Meera?
Yes. However the name isn't Meera at all.

Please tell us about how you are celebrating her birthday.
I am having a birthday party in which I am inviting my friends. I realize that my baby is too small to understand much, however we will be having games, activities and a magic show.

How has the experience of one year of motherhood been?
My motherhood has been very smooth sailing thanks to my daughter who is a very sweet and happy baby. She has not tied me down and has let me do whatever I want. She hasn't made me wake up late nights. A baby loves you selflessly and gives you a lot of love.

What kind of a dad is your husband Indraneil Sengupta?
He previously didn't like children but fatherhood has changed him. Indraneil is now a very possessive dad.

Please do describe your one-year-old daughter.
She is full of surprises, everyday she does something to surprise me.

You had your child when you were in your thirties. Whereas it's true that doctors recommend that you complete your family before 30, don't you think that when you are a mom at an older age you are a more mature and responsible mom?
When to have a baby is after all an individual choice. I have seen 25-year-old moms who are great at motherhood. There are moms in their mid 30's who can't handle it at all. Though doctors do recommend that you complete your family before thirty, when you want to have a child depends on when you want to have a child. It depends on how prepared you are for motherhood.

Would you like to have a single child family or for your daughter to have a sibling in the near future?
We are both happy with having one child as of now.

What are your plans on how to bring up your child in the next one year of her life?
I don't want to confine her to the four walls of her house. She is after all a very social baby, so I will take her to many parties. I don't want her to grow up in a protected environment. Also I will educate her at home.
