Many actors may hesitate to play a domestic
helper. However you have taken up Guru's role...
I took up Guru's role as it was a very good one.
Guru is Mohan's inner voice. Please comment.
Whenever Mohan is troubled and in a dilemma, Guru is a way out of his inner thoughts. He gives Mohan practical and logical advice. When Mohan can't see the right path, Guru shows him the correct way and so Guru is Mohan's inner voice.
Guru cares a lot for Mohan and his family. Mohan also loves Guru but I don't think he has expressed equal caring behaviour for him. Often Mohan displaces his wrath on Guru. Even if this is because of love, it gives our society a negative message that they can shout at their domestic helpers and get away with it. Please comment.
We always tend to displace our anger on a loving family member. Guru is like a family member. Mohan cares deeply for Guru, however he doesn't display it in the way Guru does for him. Mohan is yet to get an opportunity to prove how he can really go out of his way to help Guru.
Mohan's mom has even slapped Guru but he didn't protest. No domestic helper should take physical abuse silently. He should immediately walk out of the house...
Guru has been with Mohan since the inception of the show. He feels very affectionately for Mohan. In fact Guru is like Mohan's brother. For Mohan's sake he stays on.
However Mohan had once joked that if he meets with an emergency when he is broke, he will sell Guru's kidneys to raise the money. Many people may have laughed at that joke but I felt it was cruel and of bad taste...
That is just Mohan's style of talking. He surely did not mean it literally.
Like Guru can you cook (I know Guru isn't a great cook though)?
I don't know how to cook.
Will we see Guru learning to cook Thai,
Japanese, Continental and other fancy cuisines?
That will surely be fun for Guru.
Your look in Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha is quite different from your 3 Idiots look...
I changed my hairstyle and body language to play Guru.
How do you bond with Kunal Karan Kapoor?
I share a great on-screen chemistry with Kunal Karan Kapoor as we bond really well off-screen too. In fact we share the same makeup room.
You made your transition from films to TV. Usually it is the other way round.
I don't differentiate between the big and small screen. I just want to do a good role.
What are your hobbies?
I like to go on long drives especially in the night, listen to music 24 X 7, hang out with friends and spend quality time with my family.

Whereas I agree that I should have dwelt more on the positive relationship between Guru and Mohan; even at the risk of getting brickbats I had to bring to notice that raising your hand on your employee is wrong and this does legally come under physical abuse. If Mohan made a joke that he would sell Megha or his mom's kidneys to raise money people would have protested. However since he said Guru's kidneys people laughed at the joke. What I want to bring to notice is that we often shout at/ misbehave with our domestic helpers without being aware of it. Just try behaving in the same way with a domestic helper in the U.S and you will face a legal suit. Guru has never done or said anything to deserve being shouted at or slapped. If I had the chance to interview Akangsha at the time when Megha slaps Mohan, I would have also told her that Megha shouldn't have slapped Mohan. I have written a very positive introduction of Guru. Please read my questions again, I have said that Mohan loves Guru. I had brought up while interviewing Dushyant that Guru is like Mohan's brother to which he said yes. However to make the interview more synchronized that didn't exist as a separate Q and A. Please check the headline again, it is that Guru is like Mohan's brother. I believe displace your wrath on nobody. Hit nobody. Easily said than done, yet try. I do believe Mohan can go out of his way to help Guru too. I would like to see a track when Mohan maybe risks his life for Guru. I feel Mohan should more openly display his affection for Guru.
@adoremevirgo: thank you hon :) ... not just the house, if you follow the show from day 1, u can see Mohan always end up obeying Guru's words, which by the way is his inner feelings...so, there! Guru is indeed the inner voice of Mohan... & here Ms. reporter is turning the wheel unnecessarily towards a wrong direction... well, the issues she raised thru this article abt domestic help were fine. For example, selling kidneys & slapping...but she didn't see the reason behind these two circumstances... in stead of pin pointing on these things she should have focused on the positive outcome of such scenes like how Mohan is counting on Guru despite being a domestic help...& how much Indu adores Guru through her harshness... Also, you can see that Guru sometimes makes fun of Indu but she never takes it as a serious insult... :)
