Renu is not negative. She is just insecure that she doesn't have the things she could and should have had. Renu hasn't studied all that much. She isn't fluent in English. She has an inferiority complex.
I laugh whenever Renu speaks English...
I laugh too. When I have to mouth Renu's English dialogues I ask the spot boys how they would say the English lines Renu has to say. I simply imitate them.
Do you think that Renu is a good mother and wife?
Renu may be insecure and selfish but she is a good wife and mother. She is wanting a better life for her husband. She loves her son and is particular about his studies.
Which were the most fun and memorable moments to play Renu?
Renu's dance with cricketer Sanath Teran Jayasuriya was a lot of fun. The Maha Shivratri episode in which I played Parvati was the most memorable as I hadn't done anything mythological in my life before that.
Do you think Renu and Venu have anything in common?
Renu and Venu are just similar in looks. They have no similarities in their personalities whatsoever.
Please tell me more about Venu.
Venu is an air hostess who goes on announcing, "Kripiya dhyan dijiye," even when she isn't working. Her job reflects in her personal life. She is always falling in love. She is deeply immersed in astrology. She goes on saying what the astrologer has recommended her to wear. She is a sweet, simple and lovely person.
Is it more challenging to play Renu or Venu?
I have been playing Renu for a long time. She has become a part of my system and my skin. From my hair to my toe nails I am deeply into Renu. I am very comfortable playing her character.
I have played Venu for three days. It's a challenge to play Venu. Though playing Venu is fun, I lose my night's sleep over playing her role. The entire creative team has put in a lot of hard work in creating Venu. I hope she becomes a hit like Renu.
