You seem to be a very nice and helpful girl. So was it a challenge to play Pinky who is very different from you?
Yes, it was a challenge to play the role of Pinky. I had earlier played Bebo who is a very positive character. Pinky and Bebo are poles apart. I accepted Pinky's role as I wanted to do a role like this.

You insist that Pinky isn't a vamp. Please comment.
Pinky is not a vamp. She just has grey shades. She is a very pampered girl and immediately wants to get whatever she wants. She loved Pintu but her cousin Krishna got married to him. Pinky wanted to become a BDO but when Krishna became the BDO she was jealous. So she feels that she will show Krishna what she really is.  (However Pinky is a BDO now.)

You had said in a earlier interview that the best thing about playing Pinky is that you could dress up well as Pinky loves to wear pretty clothes. Please elaborate.
As I am a negative character I get to use various kinds of eye shadows and experiment with makeup. I get to wear clothes with very pretty colours. I often get to wear my favourite colour that is pink.

How do you bond with your co-star Mitali Nag?
I shoot a lot with Mitali Nag. As she is older to me I call her Mitali Di. She is very mature whereas I am very dumb in real life. She is like a mentor to me. She is very nice and helpful. Mitali Di and I really like one another. Often when there are two girls on the show, they are known to fight and whine. However we never ever do that.

Your parents accompany you to the studio. Why?
My mother accompanies me to the set from Monday to Friday. On the weekends my father accompanies me. My parents feel that I should never go on the sets alone. Someone should accompany me.

Will Pinky ever turn positive?
No chance.

What are you studying?
I cleared my B.A. English Honours through a correspondence course.

What kind of marks did you get?
All I want to say is that I passed.

Don't you think that your studies are being hampered because of your commitment to acting?
All I can say is that whatever you want to be in life, you should concentrate on that. For instance if you want to become a doctor you have to study medicine. I want to be an actress so I have to start acting from a young age. This is not to say that actresses should completely neglect their education.

What do your fans have to say when they see you playing Pinky?
My fans had wondered if I could really execute a character like Pinky. However they are liking the way I am playing the character. They like it how I am bringing out the emotions behind Pinky's negativity.

Which historical character would you like to play?
I would not like to play a historical character because then I would be required to mouth very difficult Hindi words and dialogues. Now that I am playing a BDO officer, I already am having difficulty in saying difficult Hindi terminologies.

What kind of a character would you love to play?
A character like what Rani Mukherji played in Black is something I would like to play.

Do you have a boyfriend?
I have no time for a boyfriend.

What kind of qualities are you looking for in a boyfriend?
I am quite busy. I do a 12 hour shift daily. I want my boyfriend to be okay with that and give me my space. Other than that I am not looking for any specific qualities. I will take it as it comes and finally choose the right guy.

It was in the news that you had some problems with producer Raakesh Paswan which you have settled by now. Please comment.
I had no problems whatsoever with the producer. Raakesh Paswan is a very humble and nice person. It is just that I had told him that if my track wasn't coming regularly I would do something else. My track is however on now.

Do you think that your track being regular has been good for the show's TRP?
I feel that the TRP is high whenever the story line is good.
