Tell us a little bit about your film Rangdari and what made you take it up…
Well we have just finished shooting around 45 days in UP. I did Uttaran earlier this year and played Raghuvendra Prathap Rathore, which was a very strong role.I was was enjoying theaudience adulation and when you move forward you have to make sure its with a stronger role. This movie gave me the opportunity to do something different as the role was like a superstar role. Whenyou see the movie, you will realise that this role could had been givento any superstar from the industry.
Can you tell us a little bit more about our role….
I play this guy named Taimur Ansar who is a man of principals.Taimur fights forwhat is right and for those who are weak. There are no systems and so he becomes the law and the system. The movie is around hisjourney, how politics rises around him and how hefights with everyone, including his own.It is a true story and will really touch people when they watch the film.It has a great message for the youngsters regarding crime growing at such an absurd rate.I had no reason to say no to this movie and as an actor I hope I have done justice to the role.
And can you tell us a little bit about who else is involved in this film…
The movie is written by Ikram Akhtar who has also written for Salman Khan's Ready. This time he has written something different and raw and yet inspired from true events and stories. The dialogues are written bySanjay Masoom who has just finished writing for Jannat 2 and is now writing Krissh 2. The dialogues are very strong and that makes things a bit easier. The music of the movie has been given by Lalit Pandit who has to his credit many hit songs. Our film is all set to release in August of 2012!
