Have a fun read...
What was reason for you to take up the show?
After playing Raghav in Laado, the next character I take should be as good as or even better than him. When I was listening to the character I found Rajbeer challenging and exciting and having the same potential as Raghav. Here silence is the main aspect and I believe that if you underplay the character, it brings the beauty in him.
How do you feel portraying an Air Force officer in Preeto?
There hasn't much explored on Rajbeer's profession as of now because the story is not based on him.
Do you think you physique as an added advantage to your character?
Yes, I do think because once your appearance in suited to the character, then 60%of your job is done. Convincing the audience physically is also an important aspect.
Off late, fiction shows on Imagine have not seen a good run, were you apprehensive before taking it up?
Not at all because the channel is improving with every show and personally I am completely enjoying the character and the show. And what I am doing matters to me most.
With mytho shows doing immensely well on Imagine, do you think there is a challenge in front?
I do not think we can compare or compete with each other because we belong to the same channel. Ultimately, what it matters is whether the channel is doing well.
How is the experience working with Ankita Sharma?
Ankita is a wonderful actress and the completely opposite character in the show to Rajbeer makes the chemistry more interesting. We have a give and take relation off screen. For that matter everybody on the sets are fun to be with and Kanan (Kannan Malhotra) and I are really close.
When will audience get to see the Rajbeer's issues with his family?
As the story unveils Rajbeer's past will also be revealed. Rajbeer indeed has certain issues with his family because being a multimillionaire his father wanted him to join the business but Rajbeer wanted to do something for the country.
Rajbeer is diametrically opposite to Raghav in Laado. Was it a challenge to portray such a character?
Not really challenging, but frankly speaking the greatest challenge is something else. After portraying Raghav for nearly two years it is always tough to break the image and convince the audience to accept you in a new character.
Who do you relate yourself more to; Rajbeer or Raghav?
None. Aditya is a different person. I can describe him as 'People who do not know him think, he is shy and people who know him wish he was.'
Raghav and Rajbeer; is R your lucky letter?
Actually I think it is and if you notice, the surnames of my co-actors are also lucky to me; Natasha Sharma and Ankita Sharma.
How is the experience working with Imagine?
It has been really good and Imagine is a great channel as well. I thank Saurabh Tewary for taking me as Rajbeer because after portraying Raghav for more than a year it is indeed a great challenge to take an actor who has already set an image.
You have tried your hands in movies as well. Any plans to continue?
Actually movies and acting happened accidentally because Mahesh Kothari is my parents' friend and they wanted me to do the Marathi movie. After that I did not actually think about it, but if anything interesting comes up I will definitely give a try. After it is also acting.
You are back on small screen after a break, what were you engaged with?
I love spending time with myself and I was just roaming around photographing.
Any memorable moments from the show?
I think the memorable moments are on its way because it has been only a few weeks that we have actually started the show.
