'The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards'

This prestigious awards will be telecast live on UTV World Movies on January 12 at 6.30 am and then a repeat at 8 pm on the same day.

 

The most coveted International movie channel, UTV World Movies brings to you the most esteemed and the prestigious awards of all times ‘The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards’ LIVE on January 12 at 6.30 am and then a repeat at  8 pm on the same day.

In a bid to showcase the best in entertainment, within 10 months of launch, UTV World Movies is the first Indian channel to bag exclusive rights to telecast the esteemed Golden Globe Awards for the next 3 years in SAARC region (excluding Pakistan). Taking on this venture, the channel will present a wholesome Hollywood experience certain to catch the eye of the audience, critics and aficionados of movies alike.

Speaking on the exclusive offering, Shantonu Aditya, Executive Director, UGBL said, “Kicking off 2009 in our own exclusive style, we are hosting the year’s most dazzling event and saluting the world's most favorite movies and television programs. Showcasing the event LIVE on the television screens, we are bringing the stars and the best of movies closer to our viewers. They can enjoy this ‘one-of-a-kind’ offering as the best in the entertainment business get awarded and celebrate the success of their favourite stars."

Waltz with Bashir a part of the UTV World Movies library has also been nominated for the 66th Annual Golden Globes this year. It a movie about a night at a bar, an old friend tells director Ari about a recurring nightmare in which he is chased by 26 vicious dogs. Every night, the same number of beasts. The two men conclude that there's a connection to their Israeli Army mission in the first Lebanon War of the early eighties. Ari is surprised that he can't remember a thing anymore about that period of his life. Intrigued by this riddle, he decides to meet and interview old friends and comrades around the world. He needs to discover the truth about that time and about himself. As Ari delves deeper and deeper into the mystery, his memory begins to creep up in surreal images.

With the Golden Globe Jury narrowing down the very best from a series of films, the nominees are slated to be remarkable and exceptional in their own rights. Labeled as ‘blockbuster films’ based on the reviews by renowned critics and audiences of course, movies like ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, Frost /Nixon, Mama Mia, The Reader, Kung Fu Panda and many more have made it to the esteemed nomination list for the Best Motion Pictures categories across Drama, Comedy, Musical, Animation respectively. Giving in their best of their talent, Leonardo Dicaprio, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet eagerly await to be declared the most deserving actor/ actress for the year.
