Celebrate CRY DAY with ‘Child Rights & You’
Commemorating 29 years since its inception Child Rights and You (CRY)
on January 28, 2008, CRY has once again pioneered ways to involve
people towards ensuring child rights. CRY aims at building a strong
online child rights community by involving people of all ages to be a
part of building a ‘just’ world for ALL children. Targeting the
ever-growing technology savvy individuals and corporates the world
over, CRY will launch its virtual office in ‘Second Life’– the hottest
online virtual revolution. Opening on the day as well, will be a
specially conceptualised ‘Express your rights contest’ on
crybuddies.cry.org for the young surfers in the age group of 10-14. By
taking part in this contest, the children will get an opportunity to
let lose their imagination and do all kind of fun things like drawing,
painting, writing a poem etc… this contest about THEIR thoughts, THEIR
ideas and THEIR dreams… THEIR life!!!
About CRY’s office in ‘Second Life’
CRY is the’ ‘first Indian child rights organisation’ to have an office
in Second Life which is now touted as the hottest online virtual
revolution. IndusGeeks, a technology and new media company and the
first Indian company that exclusively works on virtual world
technologies like Second Life has partnered with CRY to build its
virtual office. With an objective to strengthen the global CRY virtual
community that works towards ensuring child rights, CRY aims at using
this medium to sensitize netizens on the situation of marginalised

crybuddies.cry.org especially for children in the age group of 10-14.
The contest encourages all children to let lose their imagination and

this contest about THEIR thoughts, THEIR ideas and THEIR dreams… THEIR
life!!!
CRYbuddies is a site meant for children between 10 yrs – 14 yrs to know
and understand their rights and most importantly a space for children
to express themselves. An extension of CRY's vision for the youth, for
them to get involved, is the site called "CRY BUDDIES". The site aims
to inform children in an interactive method on what rights children
have, about CRY and various ways for them, as young adults, to get
involved in this mission.
It is a space in the virtual world available for children to visit, to
read about and understand their rights, enjoy the experience in a fun
yet informative way. Here we welcome all questions, comment and much
more on the issue of Child Rights from children.
