With the launch of the 3rd edition of Girls on [v] Calendar 2008, Channel [v] stands up for beauty with a purpose. Each photograph vividly captures the true personality of each of the Channel [v] VJs- Pia, Juhi, Bruna and Get Gorgeous 4 winner, Rachel.

Creating differentiators to the calendar each year has won the channel many accolades at the Promax BDA Awards and The World Gold Awards, internationally.

The theme of the calendar this year is ‘Green-On’. The campaign started a year ago, where the primary aim was to create awareness and get more people involved in environment related issues. Through 2007, Channel [v] aired interesting content highlighting the hazards of global warming and how the youth of today could contribute to a better living environment.

The Girls On [v] calendar is not just another cardboard creation meant to be mounted on the desk, but strives to mark a statement by encapsulating the spirit of ‘Green-On’. Keeping in sync with the ‘Green-On’ campaign, the calendar has been made of recycled paper and would be disseminated in recyclable bags.

Shot against the stark and arid locales of Bhuj, the location lends itself beautifully to the concept of ‘Green-On’. The calendar has been shot by ace lensman Prasad Naik.

Known to be associated with different causes, Channel [v] has won appreciation for issues ranging from empathy towards animals by PETA, for supporting wearing of helmets and eve teasing. With ‘Green-On’ Channel [v] attempts to alert the youth from the perils of global warming.

Commenting on the launch of the calendar, Amar K Deb, Head Honcho Channel [v] said, “There's always a lot of anticipation around the Girls on [v] calendars, not just because of the pretty VJs, but also because of the creative themes on which the calendar is based. Keeping that in mind, we decided to make this year's edition part of our Green-On campaign. Global warming is a pressing issue, and the calendar will remind us to get our Green on every time we look at it. Of course, the sensuous VJs help too”.

Living up to its name for providing cutting edge content with a difference, this time too with its calendar Girls On [v], [v] brings a unique blend of glamour with a cause!
