i don't understand why people are comparing anita with previous draupai ...
as i seen it i saw the new way of mahabharat little modified with time and what is demand on market .. well, i agree in the point that the anita need to work out more in her role but the rest like ganga was so great in her role and as other was great . i hadn't watch the last mahabharat .. but i know the story of it.. so what i think is ekta is doing great job with great set and great starting ,... so i just want to say best of luck and as whole watch it .. i hope it will be good show to watch after watching long timeof saas bahu ... it could be a gr8 break and back to history ...
I found the guys' costumes ok. But Draupadi doesnt look classy like she should. Sakshi looked good loved the turqoise jewellery. Ekta should've spent more time and money on getting the dialogs and the diction right, which the characters missed - by a mile!
@Tani: I agree with u.... I wont say tat this MB is flawless but for me this version more than compensates my understanding. Frankly, I am not a fan of old MB mainly becos of the language used.
Abt Anita, Yes I agree tat she needs to know to modulate her voice but how come everyone is saying how a draupadi shud talk???? Come on, who has seen the actual draupadai talking??? Just becos Rupa Ganguly talked calm and composed, doesnt mean tat all the actors portraying Draupdai shud do the same....
@Nisha - Ohh come on yaar, Anything and everything can be written on paper. How in the world u know tat Draupadi reacted exactly the way u described??? Becos u watched Rupa Ganguly doing tat before???!!
Watever, But KHMK surely rocks for me!!!
Can't edit my previous comment in this new format and so will have to post again.
My biggest concern and hope is that BT does not get too carried away with their other successes and so start including 'leaps' and 'twists' and other such 'masala formulae' into this serial!!!
Any tampering with the epic should be very strongly protested against!!!
And as far as comparison with the old Mahabharat is concerned, I am sorry but that WILL happen!! Every newcomer should be ready to be compared to the old-timer and have the courage and strength to beat the old-timer if they intend to replace it!! There is no use cribbing about this comparison and saying its unfair!
If they cannot even stand comparison to a serial that was made 20 years ago then they better pack their bags, their sets and go back to the serials which have made them famous in the first place!
And lack of time among the actors is no excuse! They should have taken the time before they presented themselves in front of the public! Who asked them not to???
@ Tani - I'm sorry, but by the time a show goes on air there are no more chances. You have to get it right..if the actors are finding it hard then they should have practiced more. It's not theatre that they are performing live..Everyone knew there would be comparisions to the old MB, so they should have made more effort in the rehearsals.
As for the lack of time, well, that's not really my problem. If they weren't ready, they shouldn't have filmed.
How is she ruining it? Well, Draupadi, the most dignified woman of the times, who could reduce grown men to shivers, had the power to cut people with her words. She's not meant to be a shrieking, crying victim whose performance invokes a feeling of pity. She should invoke fear. Now I don't know about you, but I was more amused than scared...
As for the costumes, I couldn't care less. Dress them however you want - but if they cannot deliver the feel, the power, the magnificence of the story, then they should not bother.
totally agree .. i think ekta wouldve been better off finding unknown faces .. some of these are so well known as a particular character that we cant see them as anyone else .. and plus, with their daily serials, they dont even have time to shoot for mahabharat ..
i didnt think it could match up to BR Chopras version anyway .. maybe the graphics side of it .. but definetely not the rest ..
@ketaki ry- Ok so she is messing with it...but can you explain HOW exactly..I mean the story seems to be going right the way it should be...yes there are some minor changes...so what that happened in the BRC Maahabarat as wel..I'm sure it's happening in the Ramayan as well....
so how exactl is she ruining it?? by the costumes?? yeah the costumes may be irritating to some..but some people like them because its not all Gold jewelry and it DOES Have Indian touches to them
The acting like I said everyone is still transitioning and this mythological stuff ISNT the least bit easy...the actors have to prepare themselves well for it and they dont have enough time because of their daily soaps
Once again I'm sorry for offending anyone
