And as the gratitude symbol here we like to present the show that most of the youngsters crave for. The show that had remained in the Number 1 position in Star One for a long time. I know you might have guessed it already, its none other than the Sanjeevani gang from Dill Mill Gayye.
It's Dill Mill Gaye at Number 1 position in this season of Yeh Dill Maange More!!!
Dill Mill Gaye:
A show that captured a million hearts tells us about some youngsters who join as interns in the city's famous hospital Sanjeevani, whose head doctor is Dr Shashank (Mohnish Behl). The interns include Riddhima and Anjali (Sunaina Gulia) who are Dr Shashank's daughters, Armaan Mallik (Karan Singh Grover), Atul (Pankit Thakker), Muskaan (Drashti Dhami), Rahul (Mayank Anand) in the first season. These interns are under the headship of Dr Kirti (Sonia Singh), nicknamed Hitler and Dr Shubhankar Rai (Ayaz Khan). The show consisted of hospital ambiance wherein there were cases, at times, and more of silly fights and the tantrums thrown by the interns. The show entirely was just the small fights and love of all these people. The show met with various ups and downs in the life of Riddhima and Armaan where they were on the verge of getting married, but an unfortunate accident separates them. The show then saw the next season wherein new interns take their place. But as the show progressed, only Siddhant (Karan Wahi) had a prominent role in the show wherein he gets married to Riddhima after Armaan exits from her life. The show proceeded with the budding love of Riddhima and Sid which sees its ultimate test with the reentry of Armaan. Dill Mill Gayye then saw the rest of the progress with Armaan trying to unite Riddhima and Sid but the show saw the end with the successful love of Armaan and Ridhima.
Dill Mill Gayye, produced by Cinevistaas made for one of the signature shows of Star One and still is one. The show saw the clutter of stars in one single show with a concept that was completely youth based and had nothing other than fun and drama. The show gave us fresh and new faces on television and also chemistry that worked well.
But at the same time the show had nothing intellectual in its portrayal and rather than the story of doctors who were youngsters, it was the story of youngsters who had accidentally become doctors. The show was pure entertainment package which later suffered in TRPs. The show saw three Riddhimas, the series that started with Shilpa Anand after which the key was handed over to Sukirti Kandpal and finally to Jennifer Winget. The inconsistency in the characters, that too the main lead, did create turmoil for the show, but succeeded to sustain its audience.
The show was completely a multi starrer with a lot of entries and exits after which the casts became the stars of the channel, wherein Sukirti is now seen as the main lead of Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani and Drashti Dhami in Geet Hui Sabse Paraayi.
Dill Mill Gayye was one show that was avidly covered by media, and it can be remembered as the only show which brought in tears in the eyes of journalists too... Yes, we had journos weeping their hearts out at the Wrap-up party of Dill Mill Gayye...
The show can definitely hit the screens again with a sequel after the union of Riddhima and Armaan. The show ended on a note that left the audience to crave more for the show. The show is definite to hit the TRPs if the channel and production team decides to come up Season 3. And let's hope that the new season will contain little more serious doctors in Sanjeevani.
This year had been a great year with lot of shows coming on air and at the same time these shows had replaced very prominent shows across all GECs. But as the saying goes, 'All is well that ends well' and all these shows did end on a good note and let's hope they make a comeback with a new season, with a fresh and novel look and concept.
With this Yeh Dil Maange More bids adieu to you. You guys have been great in accepting the section whole-heartedly and commenting on your favorite shows and characters.
Once again a big Thank You and a great New Year to each one of you.
