Tellydom stars share their Eid memories with Tellybuzz
Namaz and the big feast reminds us of the grand festival of Eid that is celebrated with elegance and splendour, and is a festival that is most awaited to celebrate. In their busy life too, our Tellydom stars celebrate the festival in the manner they can, but they do miss the celebration of this festival like how they did in their childhood days.
Tellubuzz had a chat with the stars and they shared their memories and plans for the festival this year.
Iqbal Khan: 
Bakrid was well celebrated when I was in Srinagar because as a kid I used to feed and take care of the goat like a pet, which is then later on sacrificed. But we now do not practice the custom here in Mumbai because the lifestyle here is different. I love to have Mutton Biriyani and Sheer Kurma during Bakrid and this year too I will have it, prepared by my wife, after the morning Namaz. But then later on I will be heading for shoot.
Sanjeeda Shaikh: 
As we are in Mumbai now we do not carry out the rituals as it is done normally, but when I was in Gujarat Bakrid was celebrated in its traditional manner. I used to feed the goat and then we used to carry out the sacrifice ritual properly because in Gujarat we had space of our own in our bungalow. But in Mumbai the scenario is different as we are living in buildings. My favourite dish during Bakrid is the mutton that we prepare. Even though we do not prepare the dish in any special way, the day makes the food special and tasty. This year I am really happy to be at home and with my family because I was travelling during Bakrid last two years.
Aamir Ali Malik: 
Bakrid is always an auspicious occasion for us and we used to offer the greater share of the meat to the hapless. We do not sacrifice at home, but we get it done from elsewhere and do the offering. This year also we will be performing the ritual and like every time, I will do Namaz in the morning. As I will not be shooting the day I would be spending the time with my family. During Bakrid I love to eat the Mutton Biriyani that is prepared at home.
Aasiya Kazi: We still celebrate the festival in its conventional manner at my mama's house like we used to celebrate at my native place in Ratnagiri. Even though I do not eat Mutton, I love to eat the rice of the Biriyani and I still have it. This year I have half day shoot after which I will be heading to my mama's place.
Anas Rashid: 
Bakrid had always brought along with it a lot of activities and was a lot fun than the Ramzan Eid when I was in Punjab. The ritual of bringing the bakra home and taking care of it were always looked forward to it, since we had fields around the house we used to take the goat around it. Ours is a joint family and the festival is always a time of celebration and charity, offering the meat to the needy and also sharing among the other members of the family. Roasted Mutton chaaps is my favourite during the festival. This year I was supposed to be in Punjab with my family, but got caught up with some work here in Mumbai. So I am waiting for someone from my family to come down here and get me Mutton chaaps.
Hina Khan: 
Bakrid has always been a great festival for me wherein we have a feast, but we carry out the sacrifice elsewhere. The day before bakrid we do not prepare much food because we know that there will be enough and more the next day. The dishes are always yummy and I love to eat the Kabab and Biriyani made of mutton. But this year I will be leaving the town in the afternoon on the day of the festival.
