India is celebrating its 68th Independence Day today, a day to rejoice when our Mother India got freedom. Really, nothing feels great than getting freedom from all restrictions. Even in our day to day lives we have been imposed with so many restrictions.
We just wondered what our Telly celebs would do if they would be given freedom for a day with no restrictions imposed upon them.
Let's hear what they said...
Smriti Kalra last seen in Channel V's Suvreen Guggal - Topper of the year - I would like to travel the globe, with no restrictions of Visa, etc. I would like to go to North Korea as no one is allowed there and is cut off. In turn I will give them freedom for a day by getting goodies for them.
Alan Kapoor will soon be seen in Sony Pal's Pia Basanti Re - I really don't like speed restrictions as I am a driving enthusiast. I would love to zooommm at my own free speed.
Mugdha Chapekar soon to be seen in Zee TV's Saath Vachan - If I would be given freedom for a day then I would amend all the unjust prevailing laws to ensure that a woman can step out freely at any place at any time she wants. She can choose to be the person she aspires to be. Her birthright, her education and safety be assured in every possible way. I would want to see a safe India, safe from violence, safe from corruption and safe for women.
Mihika Verma, currently seen in Star Plus' Ye Hai Mohabbatein - If I would be given freedom for one day then I would run to the airport and book a
one way ticket to any destination out of this country and would like to travel with my man.
Pooja Singh, currently seen in Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum - If I would be given freedom for a day then I would like to go anywhere wherever I feel like going to with my better half and will fly like a free bird without any restrictions. I would also like to go out shopping without any debit or credit card and do lots and lots of shopping.
Anubhav Srivastava, who is currently seen in Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta - If I would be given freedom for a day then I would like to become the Chief Justice of India and amend all the laws related to women's safety. If anyone would attempt or found guilty of raping a woman then he should be hanged till death. We get to read about crimes related to women everyday in the newspapers. A strict law should be made so that women can move out freely. If a woman will feel safe then she will be empowered and if she will be empowered then she would be able to think in the right direction.
Dheeraj Dhoopar who is currently seen in Colors' Sasural Simar Ka - There isn't anything much that I would like to do while I have the liberty to break any rule. We live in a secular country and enjoy enough freedom anyway. In fact I would instead want everyone to follow all the rules for the sake of betterment. Enough of rule breaking, it's time to get serious!
Sonal Vengurlekar who is seen as Devyani in Colors' Shastri Sisters - Freedom to me does not mean just physical freedom because unless one is free from within, he simply cannot even consider himself to be free. True Freedom prevails only where there is a freedom to make new mistakes as one keeps learning through mistakes and it is a continuous process.
However, if I am told that I am being offered Freedom just for a day, I would rather be interested in:
(1) Approaching the concerned authorities to offer an "Industry Status" to our film industry (Bollywood) so that it becomes a structured entity and should be governed by well appointed governing bodies rather than certain handful of power packed lobbies.
Once this happens, hundreds and thousands of struggling people can
find a much simpler entry (Debut BREAK) and we will be able to mark our
presence across the Globe rather than just being confined to our
(2) Spending some quality time in changing the regulations that
governs one's mind and thoughts which prefers mind over heart. I would
secure the given freedom forever and make myself eligible for such
frequent offers of Freedom. However, re-visiting my parents and old
childhood (and school days') friends is, and always would be, my
priority as we learn the biggest lesson of "Forgiveness" &
"Patience" from Parents and at the same time we learn the "Sense of
Commitment" from our "Old Buddies".
