It is the Week of Love and as the air around us fills up with romantic warmth, the Telly Buzz team presents the Top 10 Love Symbols of famous Love Stories of the small screen. Gone are the days when the couple in love needed only an ‘I Love You’ phrase to connect to each other. Today, love can be expressed by just an eye to eye contact, exchange of souvenirs and other simple gestures.

Catch on with the hot Love Symbols right here as you get lost in the fragrance of ‘Love’…

Murti: Nothing in life can be complete without the blessings of the divine. The same goes for our telly love stories as well. Right from Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki's Ram and Sita idols to Kkusum's Ganapatiji, from Kajaal's Gannu Bhaiyaa to Banoo Mein Teri Dulhan's Shambunath, when it comes to love, our director's know when to place in the right bhajans with a perfect melodramatic back ground score. But nevertheless, when it comes to love, only the divine can get everyone through.

Wind Chimes: Winds blowing around the house creating a sweet music in its own, with the chimes banging against one another, one is bound to fall for its melodious rhythm. Wind chimes are given a spiritual symbol as well, but with Kasauti Zindagi Kii setting in a new trend, wind chimes find a place on the love symbol chart. Prerna and Anurag's favorite gesture of love, commitment and break up - the wind chime, has become a universal symbol of love.

Maang Ka Tika: A maang ka tika, glorifies a woman's forehead, and adds the perfect glitter and glory to the Indianized image. But in Kasauti Zindagi Kii, the maang ka tika glorifies Bajaj and Prerna's relationship. Post the Prerna - Bajaj marriage, love bloomed between the two with Bajaj gifting her maang ka tika.

Sindoor: The symbol for marriage is the strongest love symbol ever. From Mihir and Tulsi's reunion with a blood filled forehead to Dhruv and Vedika in Sindoor Tere Naam Ka or Ranbir and Kanya in Kucch Iss Tara, sindoor has always been bonding the couples together. Be it sindoor flying across the rooms and landing accurately on the forehead or red blood gushing out of the hero's hand and pouring on the heroine's forehead, Sindoor has always been an evident sign of love and togetherness on the show.

Bangles: Yet another woman's ornament used as a sign for love and gratitude. In Karam Apna Apna, Shiv and Gauri's last love symbol were the red bangles that Shiv gifted her just before his death. The new love couple on the block - Anurag and Kakon has broken bangles as their love symbol as well.

Pani Puri:
For ages, couples in India have been fans of spending their dates on long romantic walks followed by a romantic snack on the beach side, eating chats. Anurag and Prerna of Kasauti Zindagi Kii have fond memories of the road side chat dates. Akshay and Mamta of Zee's Mamta began their closeness with chats on the road side. Annu and Ashu of Annu Ki Hogayee Wah bhai Wah being the latest addition to the list follow the custom very deligently. Great food certainly tops all dating charts.

Rain/Snow: When the clouds begin to thunder, it doesn't take a while for the audience to understand that Kashish and Sujal are to cross paths. Rains in the middle of no where, gives the viewers a little hope of the couple uniting, but then the rains dry out, and so does the story. Global warming strikes the telly enviroment and the rains switch to snow, and strikes the story lines of Kasauti Zindagi Ki , Kahin Toh Hoga and Kavyanjali.

Saree/Dupatta: Kuch Kuch Hota Hai began the trend of the red dupatta making it one the most fashionable love symbol. The exchange of the red dupattas on television began with Kasauti Zaingadi Kii, and many shows soon followed. The green saree that Om brought for Paravati, just before his death, was a symbol for Om and Paravati's togetherness and separation.

Another trend taken up from movies is the falling maple leaves taken from Mohabbatein, Kavyanjali. No matter when Kavya and Anjali, be it romantically or for yet another argument came together, the scene always showed falling leaves setting the stage for a romantic liaison.

Window: 'Mere samne wali khidki' should be the title track for most of the love stories in the K world. While Prachi and Milind's gestures were shown mostly near a window, Prem and Mukti's love affair in Kasauti began with spying at each other through a glass window.
