The New Year marks the beginning of the festivals too. Thus these festivals which are celebrated enthusiastically across the nation are Makar Sankranti- better known as festival for Kite Flying and Lohri- better known for celebrating the new season of harvesting. Our TV celebs are also celebrating these two festivals joyfully. We got in touch with few of the TV actors to know their plans on these festivals and here are they sharing their plans about the same.
Vrinda Dawda was last seen in Channel V's Dil Dostii Dance: "I have lots of childhood fondest memories related to kite flying. We used to get up in the morning and go to the terrace and I used to just hold the firkis while someone else used to fly a kite. Till the date I have not learnt about how to fly a kite (laughs). I used to eagerly wait to have the home made chikis. Now, my Mom, Dad and we all don't go for kite flying but I meet my friends and go along with them for kite flying where all the girls just hold the firkis, eat chikis and gossip a lot. In the evening we all might go out together."
Arjun Bijlani was last seen in SAB TV's Jo Biwi Se Kare Pyaar: "I still remember last year when we celebrated Lohri together in our society. We all gathered together for celebrating Lohri and Neha too was there with us. We used to celebrate Lohri together and enjoy eating together. This time I don't have any idea about what Neha has planned; it's all up to her as what Neha has planned to celebrate this festival."
Rucha Hasabnis is currently seen in Star Plus' Saath Nibhana Saathiya: "I love buying black on this day as I am crazy towards black. This is the one day on which I am allowed to buy as many as black dresses I want to. According to the rituals, my Mom makes Puran Puli on this day and I eat that the whole day from morning to night. We spend time together, eat together and though we don't get much time to go for kite flying but this time I am hoping that I will get a chance to go for it this time. I know kite flying but I just prefer eating Puran Puli made by my Mom. It's just like a Puran Puli day for me (Chuckles)."
Giaa Manek was last seen in SAB TV's Jeannie Aur Juju: I do go for kite flying but the craze of kite flying is not that much in Mumbai. We also fly the kite gas lantern and we are doing that from past last 4-5 days. My building is on a hill and there is an open passage in our building so we don't need to go to the terrace to fly kites. I still remember last year when I was in Ahmedabad I used to flying kites with my cousins. My cousins have a craze for flying the kites. The atmosphere is very lively in Ahmedabad as compared to Mumbai; the sky was not visible at all as it used to be full of kites. We used to compete with each other while flying kites and sometimes even I used to get confused when I used to not find my kite amongst so many of them. We used to eat a lot and spend time together."
Rajshri Thakur Vaidya is currently seen in Sony TV's Bharat Ka Veer Putra - Maharana Pratap: "We make Til ke Ladoos and exchange those amongst our relatives. We wear black on this day and I used to go for kite flying during childhood days but now I have forgotten how to fly a kite."
Adhvik Mahajan who is currently seen in Colors' Bani - Ishq Da Kalma: "I had on-screen lohri on the set only. We had bonfire on the set and enjoyed a lot. The best memory of lohri which I can recollect is when I was in Punjab we used to get a VCR on rent and watch films with our family members."
TellyBuzz wishes the readers a very happy Makar Sankranti!!
