Telly actor Karan Chhabra who was last seen in Channel V's The Serial, is a fitness freak. The fit actor loves to play sports and this is what helps the actor to stay fit. TellyBuzz quizzed Karan to know more about his secret of staying fit through our fitness column.
What does fitness mean to you? What's your idea of fitness?
Fitness means a lot to me. I prefer to remain fitbecause I believe that staying fit makes you confident, smart and happy.My idea of fitness is simple. Behealthy, comfortable and most importantly happy in your own way.
What efforts do you take to stay in shape?
I always try and avoid oily food and prefer to eat something which is healthy yet tasty.
Are you conscious about your food choices?
I am acomplete Punjabi foodie and love to eat everything. However, being an actor now I am a little conscious about my choice of food.
Three things you do every day to remain fit.
Three things that I follow on a regular basis are:
2. Playing a sport such as badminton or practicing dance
3.Free weights exercise.
What is your take about proteins and supplement in take among the guys these days?
Well, I believe in consumingnatural proteins that one can even find at home- green leafy vegetables, lean meats such as fish and chickenand sometimes desi ghee as well which is natural and good for the body. I do not believe in taking artificial proteins and supplements as these are unnatural and may prove harmful to one's body in the long term
Is there any sport you are skilled at?
I love Parkour (French martial art), soccer and badminton.
A celeb body you admire.
John Abraham - I admire his body as it is not only muscular but perfectly toned as wellwith just the right amount of bulk.
What is your fitness secret?
I am not a gym freakand though I do free weights I prefer the natural way to keep fit.I avoid using the elevator andclimb stairs whenever possible.I regularly play badminton and socceras I believe it's the best way to keep oneself fit.Alternatively, I just practice dance and as a part of it Itry and learn new steps as well from time to time. This serves as a good stress buster, and it's the best exercise to keep oneself fit.At times when I get the opportunity I also indulge in some swimming activity.
A fitness tip for your fans.
I would like to tell my fans that you should always go the natural way to keep fit as far as possible.Never try steroids or artificial proteins as these are harmful to the body in the long term. Additionally going to the gym is fine, but never overdo it. Simply play a sport or takea jog to keep both your mind and body fit. Always remember, your body is like a temple, if you worship it and take adequate care of it, it will boost your confidence andmake you look smart &healthy and feel good about yourself.
