World Environment Day was initially started by the United Nations in the year 1972 and from then is followed by all the countries. Slowly as the years passed people started taking this day seriously and made an effort to do their part through which they can contribute to save the earth. World Environment Day is celebrated to raise Global awareness among humans in our country to save the earth.
Small steps such as planting trees, closing the tap when not in use, throwing garbage in the bin, using cycle for short distance traveling, using Solar energy and many more things can be done which will be beneficial to the environment and in turn to the people itself.
Here is what they said...
Pallavi Purohit a.k.a Padmini of Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.
Since my father is an environmental scientist, I have been excited about this day since childhood. I used to plant a lot of trees in our garden and also in school and college garden. My father used to give speech on environment day and I used to happily absorb the knowledge. Since I am very busy today as I am shooting for two things - my show Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon and my movie, I don't have time to do anything. But I have given a speech to my maid, driver and two of my staff related to Environment Day and also have told my parents who stay in Kerala my hometown, to plant a small tree on my behalf.
Gaurav S Bajaj a.k.a Rajveer of Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai... Ajab Sa Risk Hai.
Everyday is environment day for me, we should practice the ways through which we can make our life and environment healthy. I have a small garden which I have made in my balcony, which has lots of plants and I see to it that I water them everyday and add on more plants often. I just love greenery and as monsoon season has arrived the plants grow must faster and add to the beauty. On every environment day I welcome few new plants in my garden and make sure they are different than the other plants that I have.
Dheeraj Dhoopar a.k.a Prem of Sasural Simar Ka.
Though I don't have much time as I am shooting but I do see to it every year that on World Environment Day I plant trees in my garden. Greenery is very essential for the environment and as a responsible human being we all should plant as many trees possible. On an individual level, I see to it that I walk and go for work if it is at short distance. We should also switch off the lights when not in use and use the air conditioner only when required. I strongly do believe in preserving rain water. All of these small baby steps if taken will make a very big difference to our environment.
Rithvik Dhanjani a.k.a Arjun in Pavitra Rishta.
Well not only today but even in general there are many things one should do or can be done to save the environment. The basic steps which can be taken are avoid plastic bags as they are non-biodegradable. Recycle as much as you can. We hardly have dustbins around the city hence government should make sure that there are enough dustbins around the city. Small day to day things that we can do is- print both the sides of the paper, prefer match-boxes over lighters, recycle aluminum tins, glass, save water and electricity.
Divyanka Tripathy who soon will be seen in Balaji Telefilms upcoming show 'Custody'.
We should try and save our environment in each and every way which we can take in our day to day life. Small steps that can be taken are switching the lights off and closing the tap when not in use. I am also a part of World Wide Fund (WWF) so I had recently done an activity related to Solar light usage. On this environmental day I am going to introduce a new member (plant) in my garden. I suggest everybody to do their part on Environmental Day and every day.
Saraa Khan who was last seen in Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein and will be seen in a movie soon.
I do something or the other every day to save the environment. For instance I promote paper or cloth bags. I make sure sure I use only bins to trash rubbish and I also consciously save water and electricity.
Hope everyone would take small steps to save the environment on this Environment Day!
