Crackers, Sweets, Rangoli… Its Diwali today! After a year long wait the celebrations galore with bombs, flowerpots and colourful lights.Additi Gupta:
When I think of Diwali there is always a special person who comes to my mind instantly, my uncle; a sporty, fun filled and energetic gentleman ever ready to wake neighbors up early in the morning of this Shubh day by bursting crackers, sending mithais and spreading joy. Likewise to know about our beloved televisions star's someone special whom they remember on this day, TellyBuzz had a chat with some of the popular actors of television and this is what they had to say along with sharing some of their striking Diwali moments as well…
Diwali reminds me of my brother very badly because we used to have loads and loads of fun when we were in Lucknow. It has been long since we have celebrated the festival together because he is there and I am here in Mumbai now. He switches from studies to work every now and then. When we were in Lucknow, we had a Sardar landlord and we used to have a major Diwali celebration then.
The first person I remember when I think of Diwali is my father. He is such a sporty person that when I was a kid he used to bring crackers filled in the car, so much that even after we distribute it to others; we used to have a lot left. We used to burst crackers even after Diwali. But today I do not indulge myself into bursting crackers because first of all I feel it is a waste of money. Also I have a pet at home and he panics when he hears the sound of crackers. Finally there is a lot of pollution that is caused due to bursting crackers. I feel that it has become a status symbol wherein people think of how much the others have spend on shopping and how much should they spend.
Diwali reminds of my family, especially my Nana. He was
such a fun filled man and he used to get me crackers during the
festival. Though he brings me crackers all the time, I never used to
burst even one as I am dead scared of them. For the record, I am scared
even today and if there can be an Anti Crackers Union; I could be the
President of it. In Patna, we used to have a huge house and we would
decorate every nook and corner of it. The festival used to be great fun.
When I think of Diwali, the only picture that comes to my mind is of my family. This is my second year without them and when the festival approaches I think of them more and more and the moments I spent with my family. As a kid, Diwali began ten days prior wherein we have done a lot of masti and mischievous things. Earlier I used to burst crackers but today I do not get so much into that.
Actually one person I remember during the festival is Lord Ram, the whole of Vanvaas. The festival mainly means a great family get-together and fun for me. This is one festival for which my cousins make sure that they come down to meet me from US or anywhere for that matter. Since I am the only child in the family, all my cousins come down especially for me as there is also Bhai Duj succeeding the festival. The celebrations for the festival used to start nearly twenty days prior wherein we used to buy the oil and mud to make the forts, diyas etc. I do not burst a lot of crackers but my nieces and nephews used to burst a lot.Abhinav Shukla:
Diwali has always been with my dad and mom, but this time I guess I will be shooting on the day. We used to have a Pooja at home for which my mother used to arrange everything. Earlier, I was very mischievous and I remember once I had collected the chemicals in a container which accidentally got burst from me. I was covered with smoke and my eye brows and hair were burnt. But nowadays, I am not much into crackers.
The stars wish their fans and viewers a very happy and safe Diwali...
