These days, the first thing you notice in a man, woman or child is their 'blackberry'. Welcome to an era where there is a Blackberry for everyone. It's not just a phone, but a mechanical version of a friend, philosopher, guide and maybe a wife.As it has been observed, there has been a drastic downfall in the usage of Blackberry services as the RIM services are down in all the countries affecting the EMEA areas including India. The past two days saw avid BB users screaming and fighting to get their services back on track and our television blackberry addicts are no different. A whole bunch of people have undergone the same sentiments as they try to get their services activated at the earliest.
Best friends, Kritika Kamra and Additi Gupta chant the same thought. "It is so irritating to know that I cannot ping my friends now as I am so addicted to BB and its services. In the morning when I checked my phone I had around seventeen messages and I was really shocked at the sight. Then I realized that the messages had come late in the night when the services were working properly. I always wait for the status updates and I really miss that a lot," confesses Additi.
She further adds, "Kritika, Mukti and I have created a group in the messenger and we used to ping each frequently updating every minute of our lives. But today I realized that there is a world beyond BB and in a way I am enjoying it now."
Kritika too complains and says, "My lifeline is at halt now because BB is not working at all and I have forgotten how to text. Early morning at 9 o' clock my friend Additi messages me asking, "Dude is your BB working?" Frankly, I am the pioneer of BB because I have made Karan, Mukti and Additi use a blackberry by gifting them the phone on their birthdays. Additi is ready to do anything to make it work properly. Now there is no entertainment, there are no gossips, no comments, no pictures and no hot news…. I can go and on about what I am feeling at the moment…"
Rithvik Dhanjani also has something similar to echo. "Honestly, it is tough without the BB because I used to chat with my friends who are in Dubai. But now I have more free time between shots and have realized that there are many other things that we can do other than being addicted to the blackberry," says Rithvik.
But amidst a whole lot of Blackberry fanatics, we have some actors who are not really affected by the crises. Shaheer Sheikh is one such actor who is least interested in this cribbing. He says, "I am not that Blackberry savvy and hence I am not facing any issues regarding this."
Our very own hatke bahu of the small screen, Aishwarya Sakhuja expresses, "Though I have a Blackberry, I use very limited services as I carry my laptop with me. Frankly speaking I feel it is a good riddance of time because we are free from pings and updates. No peeking on Facebook or surfing the net too leaves us with more free time. But for all the Blackberry addicts, I would like to say 'you are, I am not… ha.. ha…"
Seems like Blackberry has made itself at par with the basic essentials like food, clothing and shelter. Thank You BB!
