Hema Malini's show for COLORS is believed to be based on the novel Not Without my Daughter..

As we all know, the 'Dream Girl', Hema Malini is readying herself to produce a show on COLORS which is tentatively titled Jaiyyo Piya Ke Des. The story is about a girl who braves all odds, falls in love with a simpleton only to know that her life is in for a sea change.

There were certain reports that stated that Hema's show has been inspired from Sarkar Raj. However, what we hear is that the story is based on the novel 'Not Without My Daughter' which was later made into a movie with Karishma Kapoor as the lead, titled Shakti the Power.

A little birdie tells us, "The story is to an extent like Shakti but with a different narrative. The casting is still on for the show, and nothing is finalized as of now. The first schedule of shoot is likely to take place outside India, in Mauritius".

Hema Malini was recently seen in Star Plus' Bidaai and as a co-judge with Jeetendra in COLORS' reality show Dancing Queen.

The show is expected to go on floors as soon as the cast is finalized. The launch will be sometime in September.
