Everyone adored Raj Singh
as Sachin in Zee TV
's Pavitra Rishta
. His image of being a romantic and happy-go-lucky guy made him a household name.
Raj now makes a major move at changing his screen image. He has signed up to play a negative character in Sony's Crime Patrol
. Raj tells us, "Crime Patrol
deals with real life stories. I'm portraying a high-ranking guy from Vashi named Prem who dupes girls into marrying him and then sells the MMS clips of their wedding night."
But why would Raj give up the goody image for such a seedy one? "Of course, I love to play the chocolate boy kind of roles that you're talking about. But this role helps me to bring awareness into the society. People will know what kind of perverts are actually part of this society."
Raj elaborates, "I'm not asking people to go completely against love marriages. All I'm saying is that, please think a lot before you take a step to get married to someone. Don't go so blind in love that you don't care for the background of that person."
Portraying this character is physically strenuous but that's what makes it a challenge for Raj. "Playing this character is a lot more stress than I'd imagined. Just imagine I had to shoot for a chase sequence. Running in the hot sun took its toll on me but at the end of the day, I was satisfied that I'd given my 100% to the shot. These kinds of things make me like this role," he signs off.We wish the actor luck for his new avatar.
