Phool Singh who has gained fame and recognition in Bhojpuri films got popular in television as Lithi Mama in COLORS' Sabki Jodi Wohi Banaata Bhagyavidhaata. And now the actor is all set to play a negative role in NDTV Imagine and Beyond Dreams' upcoming show Jhamuniya.

According to our source, "The character of Lithi Mama has made Phool Singh very popular in the areas of Bihar and Chattisgarh, and Imagine really wanted to cash into the actor's popularity in the region, as Jhamuniya is a show which has a backdrop of Chattisgarh".

"Phool Singh will play the negative character of Bodhan Mama; his character will also have a humorous touch to it. Mohan Joshi who essays the role of Thakur Gajraj, and Bodhan will be the patriarchs of two different families. Bodhan happens to be the Mama of Jhamuniya (Bhavna Khatri), while the male lead is from Thakur Gajraj's family", informs our source.

When contacted, Phool Singh tells us, "Yes, I am playing the antagonist's role in Jhamuniya. I have a lot of fan following in Chattisgarh and Bihar belt, and by God's grace my role of Lithi Mama in the COLORS' show has given me recognition in television. I am very much excited to play Bodhan Mama now in Jhamuniya".

As reported earlier, Manmohan Tiwari of Rakhi Ka Swayamvar fame will play a negative role in the show.

We tried calling Yash Patnaik, but he remained unavailable.

Jhamuniya will launch in prime time slot after Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega ends.
