Mohit Malhotra who was almost finalized to take up a meaty role in COLORS upcoming show, will now be seen in Star Plus' Sasural Genda Phool..

Mohit Malhotra who was earlier seen in BAG Films and Star Plus' Mitwa Phool Kamal Ke will now be seen as the guy opposite Ragini Khanna in Ravi Ojha's new show for Star Plus, Sasural Genda Phool.

According to our source, "He will play a model in the show, who has high ambitions in life. He will fall in love with the character essayed by Ragini Khanna, but they will not get married eventually. Later on, Jay Soni will step in and he will be the guy opposite Ragini Khanna".

But even before this show happened, Mohit Malhotra had got close to bagging a meaty role in COLORS' and Rose Audio Visuals' upcoming show in the afternoon slot, tentatively titled 'Shivaji Park'. He was to play the second brother in the show, the character of Nishikant.

"However, things did not fall in place and he did not take up the show. The role has now gone to Romit Raj", informs our source.

When contacted, Mohit Malhotra tells us, "Yes I am doing Sasural Genda Phool. I will be the guy opposite Ragini Khanna initially. But something happens and our relationship does not last".

When asked about the COLORS show, he tells us, "Yes, I was to do the role of Nishikant. But I backed out as the budget was too less as it is a show conceived for the afternoon slot. But I am happy to be part of Sasural Genda Phool".

As reported earlier, Sasural Genda Phool has some big names in Anita Kanwal, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Shruti Ulfat, Jay Soni, Sudhir Pandey, Sooraj Thapar, Bhairavi Raichura, Jiten Lalwani, Sooraj Thapar, Pooja Kanwal and Ragini Khanna.

The promos of the show are on air and will be launched at the prime time slot sometime at the end of this month.
