According to our source, "The reason for Saurabh's replacement is due to his unprofessional behavior."
We called Saurabh who confirmed the news of his replacement. He says, "I'm paying the price just for asking scripts on time for which we have to wait for long hours. Further they bring in major changes without planning and we don't even get adequate time to rehearse. Big bloopers happen due to the rush. Like, in one episode, Kamya Punjabi had to be stabbed but we shot myself being attacked…the whole thing had to redone! Hence, last Friday, I had a big showdown with the production house and said that I will only shoot if I have a ready script in hand. Rather than listening to what I was saying which was in the interest of the show as well, I was just thrown out. They didn't even have the courtesy to inform me of my replacement. I heard it from others. And one of reasons they are touting is that I was throwing tantrums."
Sunjoy Wadhwa, head of Sphere Origins, confirms that Saurabh has indeed been replaced. He says, "Yes, Saurabh Pandey has been replaced and Yash Pandit has been brought in to play the protagonist. We had to replace Saurabh due to his unprofessional behavior."
So what about Saurabh's existing contract with Sphere Origins? To this Sunjoy says, "If an actor is unprofessional then no contract stands valid."
Sources say that things have not been too good between Sunjoy and Saurabh, who had earlier worked in Sphere Origin's weekend fantasy saga, 'Shaurya Aur Suhani'. Apparently Sunjoy did not want to cast Saurabh in Tere Mere, but it was the channel which forced his hand.
Saurabh also accepts that equations between Sunjoy have soured. "We were on good terms during Shaurya and Suhani but things change over time!"
Our source confirms that Yash Pandit will be starting shoot from today. He was last seen in Star One's Hum Dono Hain Alag Alag.
We repeatedly tried calling Yash, even sent him a text message but he remained unavailable for comments.
If the buzz is to be believed, "Tere Mere Sapne is under the scanner. It has not been generating big TRPs and with Star Plus' many shows in the pipeline, the coming months' ratings will be crucial for Tere Mere Sapne."
With the clock ticking, let's see whether Yash Pandit can bring in the much needed TRPs.
