Dear Readers,
First of all Keshu is not like Walia. Walia was more like Dharamraj mahiyavanshi & was popular so if at all Keshu was like Walia it should have worked.
Only reason I can then think is may be people who saw Walia as a hot handsome romantic hero in Kasam Se found t hard to accept himas father of grown up kids in later part of Kasam Se & in Basera where as other characters didn't have problem fitting into image of older guy
BTW DM is newer character so don't know how others which I have mentioned are inpirational. Lot of shows ended when the popularity went down so none of those characters ( Like Mr. Bajaj) should have worked if yoour argument was true) but still those type of characters are still being used. Also lot of shows have same storylines...age difference , scheming sister in law too.
I was not saying Basera is preaised I was talking about one particular actor I have noticed you have been critizcizing ( still following around for some unknown reason). You didn't like the performance even when masses & critics did.
I was praising your patience in following & commenting on actor/s or show/s you dislike. Thats very unusual. Most of people ignore & spend time only on personalities they like.

A character similar to Keshu? Sure -- Walia! Other than the skunk stripe in the hair, Keshu and Walia are the same (personality, getting played by family, heart attack, etc). The whole Keshu role really does seem like a continuation of where Walia left off. I'm sure that many basera fans would also have noticed this.
In fact, even Gurdeep Kohli, who REJECTED a lead role in basera said that the whole thing is simply an uninteresting continuation of Kasamh Se!
KS finished off quite weak in its last year, and so it's not surprising that continuing those sorts of characters hasn't worked!
With regards to Dharamraj Mahiyavanshi, yeah, I agree that other characters (like the ones you've mentioned) are inspired by him. DM is ultra popular, and working brilliantly... and so I'm not surprised. In fact, that's why the character of DM got the actor the top prize at the ITAs this year!
Anyways, each of the characters you've mentioned have been accepted by the masses due to the strong performances... but the audience has NOT taken to the basera characters, which is EXACTLY why I'm saying that it's NOT working!
I'm not sure if there are many articles out there which state that acting is good in basera... but If you want articles which mention the fact that the acting is NOT working good, and that casting is bad, then I don't mind PMing you with it :-)
You suggest that masses are praising the work in Basera... but the numbers are tanking, and so that means the opposite! Praise from critics? The number of negative articles about basera is overwhelming! Virrudh was a different case... For basera, there IS criticism for what is seen as miscasting -- the same cannot be said for Virrudh!
I'm simply stating a few facts... I have no underlying motive.
Finally, thanks for the praise for me... I don't understand it, but I appreciate it.
God bless.

Can you name character which is similar to Keshu just out of curiosity
If that was reason for failure then DharamVeer Mahiyavanshi of Bandini, Thakur of Agle Janam, Digvijay of bairi Piya are no different than Mr. Bajaj, Walia & many more male protogonist which are seen before. Alek from Bidai is like Sagar from Banu Mein.Still those show are topper in chart.
And in that sense all female protogonist are same with just different faces be it Tulsi,Parvati,Vidya from Banu mein, Bani or Laali, Radhika in current shows.Same is true for Vamps
I have read bad reviews aout the show but never about actors.
Lot of good shows like Sarkar, Virudh, ladies special are rejected by masses not because of actors but creatives.
BTW someone who is critical of one particular actor you seemed to spending too much time on a show/shows which you don't like at all.( have seen u critisizing that person even when masses & critics were loving that person)
I know people following their favorites are called fans but didn't know someone .. don't know word opposite of fan...would have so muc patience. Should commend you for that.

Sawani3, hello!
I understand that you probably have enjoyed the performances of the actors -- I'm not even questioning that. What I AM saying is that the MASSES in India (who the show caters to, and who ultimately decide the TRPs) do NOT seem to have enjoyed or appreciated the performances brother.
There are numerous articles out there which states that the characters have been rejected, and that many of the roles have been badly miscast, and how it's just not working. The actors just couldn't make their characters work!
Therefore, my view really is not a minority view.
I'm not watching this show, and so I don't know about the bed-ridden stuff... but the public view came out long before the health decline track came into the picture.
Although the Keshu role in particular has that unexciting seen-it-before aura to it, the same can be said about pretty much all the other basera roles also. And I keep dwelling on this, but it's serious -- the Gujju lines are embarrassingly bad!
So yeah, the creatives aren't great for this show... but they cannot be totally blamed. The burden of basera's failure goes to the entire team -- writers, and actors also.
God bless.
Lord mangeshwarji,
I totally disagree with you.
The best part of Basera was the actors. All of them are great esp the older established ones.
The writers & creatives couldn't do justice to the talent they have. Otherwise they wouldn't make all ofthem disappear & Ram Kapoor made helpless to show any of his skills by keeping him bed ridden.
Keshubhai Sanghavi was so different from the typical Bajaj, Walia, Dharamraj type tycoon....not stiff, stern , aloof, serious, unreachable. He was lively fun loving family man ...more like common man...very reaistic..a man who is hard working sucessful & loves to spend time with his family & friends. More closer to audience.
If audience was tired of stereotypical shows of same love stories (sometimes between two people with huge age gap forced together), same family drama, age old raazs, lot of current shows which are topping charts wouldn't have.
The storyline of Basera was not the usual tried popular ones. It deals with topic not oo many want to be reminded of. Its upto creatives & writers to make it work when they have such talentat their disposal.

Sonia, hello again my friend :-)
I do understand what you are trying to say... however, I'm in disagreement because the fact is that Basera's TRPs were quite miserable from a very early point.
Despite being in a timeslot whereby it benefits from having popular shows before (RHTPKCM) and after (Bandini, Imagines top daily serial), Basera was a dud early on.
Now with rubbish storylines, it takes quite a while before audiences drop away... but Basera was almost an instant failure. Initially, it is upto the characters to hold the interest of the viewers before a decent track takes off... but that did not happen here.
There are also several articles (from various reporters) which confirm the same thing -- that the audience never did accept these characters. Just as I found these performances extremely weak, and unimpresses, it seems like the masses did also. Not a single character came across as having an interesting personality... yeah, the script seems weak, but I wouldn't blame the writers totally -- it seems like collective failure.
This Sanghvi type character has been seen over and over -- Bajaj kicked off the tycoon trend, and that was immitated by the Walia character, and now this Sanghvi is nothing more than a repitition of poor Walia. From day one it just wasn't working... and the actors have not added an ounce of novelty in any character -- just the same boring stuff!
If at least the performances were strong in the first two months, at least a fanbase would have been established... but that show just ended up being the weakest primetime show Imagine has had in almost a year.
I really do think that Basera belongs in a lunchtime slot, and not Prime Time.
God bless.
Sonia i agree with you.
Some poplar shows are copied over & over. Some people may find Bandini or Betaab similar to Kasam se.
Problem with basera is creatives have still not made use of great actors & good concept. If they could hen this is a different show without typical love story of main protogonist & saas/nanand bahu saga
Friend lord-mangeshwar , I didn't mean that u have insulted them about their physic n all.ur reply seems to be pointing at one particular actor.(sorry if iam wrong).but friend shall I tell u the reason behind ur "unimpressive performance" expression.actually what went exactly wrong in BASERA is they introduced a lottttttt many characters at a time.so even before we get to know any particular role they ended it.with which many basera viewer's got unimpressed n stopped watching the show.when the actors themselves didn't get much space to act ,how exactly they would show their talent.in the beginning of the show ,i.e in the 1st 2-3 weeks ,pallavi didn't even get a chance to act.only thing she used to do just stand there n give a smile.many pallavi subhash 's fans didn't like it n stopped watching it.iam a big fan of pallavi subhash ,even I used to feel bad about it.to be frank in the first 2-3 weeks not even a single actor got a chance to give a blasting performance as there is no much drama in it.just they concentrated on how 4 happy friends celebrate their Sundays n all with which the actual story line got side tracked.so eventually basera lost its viewers.
But the sad thing is actually now they r showing exact track n the actors r giving their best.even the freshers like mehul n ketan(I don't know their real names) r giving their best.n lead actors pallavi n ram r giving their best performance to the show.but still couldn't get impressed.kya karein bad luck works more some times.
N totally the creative's r to be blamed.not the actors.they failed to use the actors talent.n yaar coming to kasamse n all ,well we got addicted to one format.that is everytime we start watching a new show ,we need new actors.n friend u feel that its like watching kasamse because ,there ram n pallavi played the parents n priya their daughter.here exactly the same thing is happened.but yaar come on the actors r same but not the story.then y many r mixing both the shows.<...
basera's creatives should stop dragging this part...then everything will be fine....

"Walia was like DM"... hahaha! Good one! I enjoyed that one! :D
Onto serious stuff, Keshu absolutely IS a Walia continuation -- there's NOTHING about Keshu which hasn't been seen in Walia.
KS tanked in its last year -- it stuggled to keep up with the shows on its own channel, let alone others! When Walia wasn't enough to boost that show, a continuation of that SAME character won't do anything! Basera right now is in the same miserable TRP state as KS in it's last year :-(
Anyways, if a character fails (for whatever reason), it's not good. Again, I must agree with that article which mentioned miscasting -- that the leads simply do not fit the characters, and so they don't work!
You're telling me that the Agle Janam and Bairi Piya characters came before DM? hehehe! Nah, DM came before them, and just like Bajaj, and Aparajit Deb, he set the trend for those characters. The Big B's of the big and small screen are truly trendsetters brother!
The stuff about shows ending and my argument not working... I don't get it! I'm talking about SAME characters by SAME actors!
Without trying to go off topic, you're saying that I'm following an actor around... yaar, my favourite show runs on Imagine, and so I want a popular show to be placed before it (good for channel, and good for my show also!). Therefore, of course I'm interested in the success of a 9:30pm show!
basera is a dud... hence the reason why I'm looking forward to it being replaced with a show that people will ACTUALLY watch! I want Imagine to do well because it's a great channel!
Anyways, forget me following an actor (lol)... it seems like you know too much about me (this is the 1st time I've ever come across you!)... I'd go as far as saying that despite not being liked, I'm being followed...
Although it's "unusual", I guess I should praise "patience", right? :-)
God bless.
