Renuka Shahane is tipped to play mother to Pulkit Samrat in Fauji 2 which will launch on COLORS...

The sequel of the popular show on Doordrashan, Fauji as we know, is being produced by SRK's Red Chillies Idiot Box.

Our readers would remember that Telly Buzz had earlier reported that the handsome hunk Pulkit Samrat who has not been seen on television ever since his spat with Ekta Kapoor happened, has been tipped to play the role of Abhimanyu Singh.

Pulkit even today, claims that talks are still on, and nothing is decided.

Our source though informs us that Pulkit will most likely make his comeback with this show. "Also, Renuka Shahane who was last seen in Sony's Jeete Hai Jiske Liye in all likelihood, will be making a comeback to television after two long years, with the sequel of Fauji. If all goes well, she will be playing mother of Abhimanyu Singh. Shahrukh Khan who rose to fame with Fauji years back, will be seen in the initial episodes as father of Abhimanyu Singh", reveals our source.

When contacted, Renuka Shahane said, "Talks were surely on for the show. But I have not got any revert from the concerned people. So I really do not know whether I will be in it or not".

Another interesting fact is that Shahrukh Khan and Renuka Shahane have already been seen together in a television show. For the uninitiated, SRK's second show on Doordarshan, Circus directed by Aziz Mirza had the same cute couple as lovers.

Bhavna Sresth, Creative Head, Red Chillies Idiot Box maintained that, "Nothing is finalized as regards the cast. So I cannot confirm anything as of now".

Fauji 2 is expected to be a biweekly and will launch on COLORS either in the end of 2009 or early 2010.

It will indeed be a cute second innings for the SRK-Renuka pair on television (of course sporting their grey hairs) if they are part of Fauji 2...
