Ajai Sinha's next venture on Sahara One, Agnisakshi gets its leads in Akshat Gupta, Jaya Binju, Toral Rasputra and Mahesh Shetty..

We had reported earlier that Ajai Sinha's Ananda Telefilms is coming up with a show on Sahara One, tentatively titled 'Agnisakshi'.

The show will be a typical family drama based on a Rajput family, for which the first schedule of shoot is to take place in Rajasthan. The story will revolve around two brothers, of which the elder one is not educated and has the upbringing of the village, while the other one is well educated and is modern in approach. The younger brother falls in love with a girl who happens to be from the family of their enemy.

Though we had earlier mentioned that popular face Sanjeeda Sheikh had been approached for the show, Mushtaq Shiekh, the Creative Director of Sahara One had informed us then that the channel and production house were on the look out for fresh faces to play the leads in the show.

According to our source, "The main cast of the show has now been finalized and the show has gone on the floors. Mahesh Shetty who was earlier seen in Kis Desh and Ghar Ek Sapna will play the elder brother, while Akshat Gupta who was last seen in Palampur Express will play the main lead".

"A relatively new face, Jaya Binju will play the female lead, while Toral Rasputra will essay the role of her younger sister, and will be the parallel lead in the show", informs our source.

Jaya Binju was earlier seen in Jassuben Jayantilal Joshi ki Joint Family has recently entered Star Plus' Baa Bahu Aur Baby as Birju's new flame, Sonia. Toral Rasputra was last seen in Zee Next's Yahaan Ke Hum Sikandar.

In fact, Toral and Akshat Gupta were to play the leads in Ajai Sinha's new show on NDTV Imagine, which was earlier scrapped.

We called up Akshat Gupta, who told us that "Things are not yet finalized. I will let you know once all is clear".

Mahesh Shetty though accepted that he is part of the show. "Yes, I have started shooting for the show".

We called Jaya Binju and Toral, but they refused to comment.

We also called up Producer Ajai Sinha and left a text message to Mushtaq Shiekh, Creative Director, Sahara One but did not get any revert.

The launch date and time slot for the show has not been finalized yet.
