Sahara One's Shubh Kadam will see the entry of Pratha's father and her step sisters soon...

Sahara One and Cinevistaas' supernatural thriller Shubh Kadam will now see the entry of a new family which will include the father and step sisters of Pratha aka Mahi Vij.

According to our source, "The show somewhere lost on the clean balance they had maintained between horror and soap with the previous track that involved kids. In order to make the story line more soapy, there will soon be an introduction of a new family which will be Pratha's family and the track would revolve around them. This will break the linear story line that the show had, and will show more parallel tracks".

Pratha's father will have three daughters from another wife, who will be Pratha's step sisters. "Veteran actor Suresh Marathe will be seen playing Pratha's father, Diwakar Deshmukh. His character will be on the lines of Amrish Puri in the movie Muskuraahat. He commands respect in neighborhood. He is living in the guilt of leaving her first wife Sneha and the child Pratha when she was about five years old. But he has never shared the guilt with anyone. He is straight and looks tough from outside as he is the pillar of the family and has to be very strong. But from inside he is very weak. He has a problem in the knee, which makes him put effort in getting up and sitting down. But once on his foot, he is very active. He doesn't talk much, so he never had a very warm relation with any child, though he shares bonding with Parineeta to some level".

"Anubha Bhonsale who was earlier seen in Sindoor Tere Naam Ka and Solhah Singaar will play one of the step sisters of Pratha. She will play the second lead in the show. The other sisters of Pratha have not been casted yet", adds our source.

Elaborating on the character played by Anubha, our source, states "She plays Parineeta Deshmukh. She is very fearsome of losing what she has, as she has struggled in studies and in love. She easily gives in to rumors".
