Star Plus' Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the two very successful shows coming from Rajan Shahi's Directors Kut have created history by sharing the #1 position across all channels with an average TVR of 7.2 each.

As Rajan Shahi puts it, "It is a mind-blowing fact that for the first time in the history of television, two shows share the #1 spot".

He goes on to add, "Not only are Bidaai and Yeh Rishta #1 this week, they also occupy the 'Top Ten' slots of Hindi GEC this week. In other words, it means the top ten shows of television this week are between these two shows".

With this, Star Plus with a 311 GRP holds a distinct 19% leadership over COLORS which is slotted at number 2 position with 262 GRP.

The #1 channel, Star Plus is reaping rewards with its new launches too, as Sabki Laadli Bebo, the Endemol Production is a distinct leader in its slot with a TVR of 4.6, thus defeating Uttaran, Betiyaan and Dance India Dance.

Hats Off Productions' Burey Bhi Hum Baley Bhi Hum has launched with an average of 1.4 TVR while Chehra is going steady with 1.5 TVR. It's weekend fantasy show Shaurya Aur Suhani, produced by Sphere Origin launched with a TVR of 1.3.

And as Keertan Adhyantaya, GM and EVP, Star Plus sums it up, "What gives us immense joy is the fact that we now have a basket of highly differentiated shows. In addition to shows like Bidaai, Yeh Rishta, Kis Des & Raja, we now have shows like Laadli, Bhale Bhi Hum, Shaurya & Chehra. Each of these shows is highly differentiated from each other and from shows on other channels".

Talking about the highly-ranked and newly launched shows, Keertan states, "Bidaai is building up to another peak with story leading towards Alekh's past. Yeh Rishta is entering a very tender phase with the love blooming between Akshara & Naitik. Laadli is a very emotional show and the excellent cast that's been handpicked for this show is making us all proud. We are very bullish about Shaurya aur Suhaani. This is a period show with lots of action, romance and drama. Bhale Bhi Hum is a show which is like a breath of fresh air on Indian television.

As Star Plus sails high in the TVR charts, we wish the channel and the shows all the very best…

I do sometimes wonder about this forum and what role it plays to brain wash the fans. I sometimes feel that the forum has members that come on the forums that have a mission to try to promote certain couples, and characters. I think I am a intelligent person and sometimes what they are promoting just doesn''t make sense.

Being traditional does not represent Indian culture !!!!!!!!India is not in 1947 that we will accept that traditional serial or movies will work !!!!!!! I don''t say they (Bidaai or YRKKH) are not good but its doing well only bcoz its its traditional is not true !!!!!!!

K-shows were never repeated but some jealous people (of Ekta''s stupendous success) bad publicity her soaps through media that she is repeating things where its not true !! She still holds her millions of loyal fans today!!! She will be back ..back soon with a big BANG !!!!!!!!!!

very proud of rajan sir!

and let me tell others who think tht these shws r boring n backward tht these shws r the reality of india. if u cant believe tht maybe u dont live i.n india or u have been living rather a luckier life and nt seen the truth behind ur luxuries and so called 2009 living today. and just bcos these shws r somewht traditional tht doesnt mean tht rajan sir doesnt have the ability to make modern shws,, maybe in future he will cum up with something modern but more interesting than K shws which were mostly repeated!

At least Ekta shows her female leads as strong characters, working women mostly. Not like these 2 chauvinistic, medieval shows where girls sit at home, just waiting to get married at 17-18 years of age.

Both are very boring, mundane and inane shows, nothing exciting happens in these shows. I tried to watch YRKKH, couldnt sit thru a whole episode. All they talked abt was shadi, shadi and shadi, like a girl has nothing else in her life. Both shows are very backward, I guess they are popular in villages.
Bidaai is a bad copy of Sister of my Heart, a novel by Chitra Bannerjee, and this YRKKH just doesnt make any sense at all. The girl acts so coy its hard to believe this is 2009.
