For the first time in the history of television, Star Plus' Bidaai and Yeh Rishta share the #1 position. Also, the newly launched shows of Star have been able to entertain viewers with involving content..

Star Plus' Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the two very successful shows coming from Rajan Shahi's Directors Kut have created history by sharing the #1 position across all channels with an average TVR of 7.2 each.

As Rajan Shahi puts it, "It is a mind-blowing fact that for the first time in the history of television, two shows share the #1 spot".

He goes on to add, "Not only are Bidaai and Yeh Rishta #1 this week, they also occupy the 'Top Ten' slots of Hindi GEC this week. In other words, it means the top ten shows of television this week are between these two shows".

With this, Star Plus with a 311 GRP holds a distinct 19% leadership over COLORS which is slotted at number 2 position with 262 GRP. 

The #1 channel, Star Plus is reaping rewards with its new launches too, as Sabki Laadli Bebo, the Endemol Production is a distinct leader in its slot with a TVR of 4.6, thus defeating Uttaran, Betiyaan and Dance India Dance.



Hats Off Productions' Burey Bhi Hum Baley Bhi Hum has launched with an average of 1.4 TVR while Chehra is going steady with 1.5 TVR. It's weekend fantasy show Shaurya Aur Suhani, produced by Sphere Origin launched with a TVR of 1.3.

And as Keertan Adhyantaya, GM and EVP, Star Plus sums it up, "What gives us immense joy is the fact that we now have a basket of highly differentiated shows. In addition to shows like Bidaai, Yeh Rishta, Kis Des & Raja, we now have shows like Laadli, Bhale Bhi Hum, Shaurya & Chehra. Each of these shows is highly differentiated from each other and from shows on other channels".

Talking about the highly-ranked and newly launched shows, Keertan states, "Bidaai is building up to another peak with story leading towards Alekh's past. Yeh Rishta is entering a very tender phase with the love blooming between Akshara & Naitik. Laadli is a very emotional show and the excellent cast that's been handpicked for this show is making us all proud. We are very bullish about Shaurya aur Suhaani. This is a period show with lots of action, romance and drama. Bhale Bhi Hum is a show which is like a breath of fresh air on Indian television.
