After going through a struggling period during his earlier days, actor Ronit Roy became a sensation with his roles in TV shows like 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' and 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi'.
Currently juggling films and television simultaneously, Ronit Roy had several things to say about the current scenario of television.

According to a leading news daily, Ronit mentioned that he feels that television is currently at its worst possible stage and that is why nothing seems to be working out for the audience.

He mentioned that people have tried several new stuff on television lately, however, some or the other factor has been responsible for the shows not working out.

He continued saying that television has hit a rock bottom as neither new nor old work is being appreciated.

However, Ronit justified his statement by saying that the much awaited and much needed transition on television will happen real soon. According to him, one pioneer will enter the industry with something totally new and completely different which will work and the rest will follow. He also said that he can guarantee that this boom of television will be bigger than cinema.

Ronit mentioned that he feels great that actors like Sushant Singh Rajput and Amit Sadh have broken the stereotype belief that TV actors cannot make it big in films.

He is absolutely right. Good shows are never appreciated while nonsensical shows run for years without any problems.

I really miss those days when we had some classic shows. Nowadays all we have is cheesy love stories, naagins and daayans all because of people like Rashmi Sharma and Ekta Kapoor.

We need more shows like Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Saara Akaash, Special Squad, Arjun, Dahleez, Amma, etc.

So true creativity took back seat and trp nonsense hits off only bakwas shows on trp list unique shows have no place and all type of creatures like nagin Dayan are hits wondering what crap ppl watch seriously top 5 shows are craps

Totally agree with Ronit Roy. Imase and libsrocks both of you are absolutely right. In the earlier days the shows were worthwhile to watch. But, nowadays the shows are turning bad to worst. And, the main culprit is a certain Miss Ekta Kapoor. She's the one who started the trend of rape, extra marital affairs, multiple marraiges and what not. I think she has shown all possible things which a cultured family wouldn't want their children to watch. And, as if she wasn't enough here comes Rashmi Sharma to join the bandwagon. Every new show starts with a bang but later comes back to square one.

I can't stop but I have to agree.. Shows like nagin.. Please give me a break.. Then they brought shakti o thought it wld be a game changer but they have changed d medical science by portraying a kinar in a sexy avatar.. These new actors don't know how to act.. And d only reason Indiav tv has hit its rock bottom is ekta kapoor.. Gone are the days when we had some good shows to watch.. Star one had a fresh story line.. Shows like punar vivah.. Sara bhai.. Khichdi..Need to be back

Ronit Roy hit the nail with his views. I think there are multiple problems:-
1) Audiences have lost faith in Indian T.V serials. Any new show with new concept ends up with same old story line.
2) Many audiences are incapable of changing their taste. They are unable to accept shows with new and progressive concepts. They are the reason why shows like 'SSK', DABH and YRKKH keep going on. These shows are getting the TRPs required to keep a show on air through such insensible viewers.
3) The need to keep the show for infinite episodes creates a drag in the story. The story writers should try to keep a control over the number of episodes and not waste them over insignificant festivals and weddings.
4) The same old and stale characterization of main leads. The male lead has to be angry young man with unreasonable ideas. The female lead has to be sweet, bubbly and great achiever in everything. She has to lose all of it in name of marriage and the family has to be joint family where long-lost relatives tend to appear and stay forever. Why can the female lead not be some ambitious but morally good person who wants to have a life beyond her in-laws? Why can she not live independently with her husband? Why does she have to tolerate insensible long-lost relatives of her husband for no reason whatsoever?
5) The supernatural stuffs are absolute bore. Indian T.V shows really don't know the art of presenting thriller shows. Even vampires, werewolves, naagins and etc, need to have joint families, husbands and evil in-laws.

i agree wid him..dese saas bahu n super natural stuffs, forever show, mahaan characters r so annoying...

TV is going through worst times. Every show starts with promise of something new but ends up being same crap either saas-bahu crap or the latest Super natural stuff
It is not that good shows are not coming, some shows do come but are ended due to TRP drama *yawn*

from the trailers and knowing that it's PD's movie i had high hopes but all in vain!

There is not story, no script it just some random scenes put together. From the very beginning one can easily predict what we will see next!
Shruti's looks divine on the screen but her dialogue delivery and expressions are very very bad! She is so mechanical!

Girish is more or less sincere to his screen nick name "monkey"! He is ok in terms of dancing but his acting needs lot of improvement. Not at all convincing as a lover boy!

The saving grace of the movie are the songs, cinematography and Sonu Sood!

Very silly attempt to remake MPK! No solid script, no character development - why did Ram fall for Sona??
There is definitely innocence and purity but it doesn't have any story to support the movie!
