Nirmal Pandey to play Bheeshm in Star Plus' Mahabharat

After months of waiting, the face of Bheeshm Pitamaa in Bobby Bedi’s Mahabharat on Star Plus has finally been revealed!!

Nirmal Pandey, who was earlier slated to play the character of Dhritarashtra, will now essay the role of Bheeshm in the show.

Speaking about this latest development, Nirmal says, “It is true that I am playing the character of Bheeshm now. The production house felt I would suit the role of Bheeshm better, and I don’t have any qualms in doing it. I am currently doing some workshops on the same.”

Adding further on this change he states, “I am thrilled to play Bheeshm. It is a very tough character to portray and is a huge challenge, but I am looking forward to it.”

And if sources are to be believed, Bobby Bedi has also roped in ace writer Kamlesh Pandey, who was the screenplay writer for movies like Rang De Basanti and Black and White, to do the screenplay for his epic.

Well, it’s a big respite as we finally get to hear something about Bobby Bedi’s Mahaabharat after a long silence!!

    Great actor... but I gotta say, that I am surprised that he is getting that prize role.

    I honestly thought that he would get one of the villain roles... either way, very interesting!

    what i have seen of nirmal pandey in movies is pretty impressive. i think he will make a superb bheeshma......thank god he is not going to be the blind one...........i wonder who will play krishna????
