There was a literal 'slapgate' issue around...

One must have heard about several issues in the political world about violence, a war of words, and much more going on between two opposing parties and even the other numerous unions involved. However, hearing about the same in the television industry is a rare occurrence.

Though there weren't two fighting parties involved, there certainly were some unanticipated happenings on the sets of Zee Tv's popular show, 'Kaala Teeka'.

According to a leading news daily, a union called the Allied Mazdoor Union led by Gangeshwar Shrivastav recently barged on the sets of Kaala Teeka. This union has been dissolved by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) a year and a half back. But since that, they have been functioning independently.

This barging in led to the people asking for ID cards of the workers and technicians on the sets where apparently, a sound recordist who refused to entertain them was assaulted.

A man called Navnath Wayekar had his apprehensions about entertaining the union members and mentioned that he wouldn't show them anything as they are not affiliated to FWICE. Soon, an argument followed and later Navnath was allegedly slapped.

However, one of the union members, Rakesh Maurya refuted this saying that no one slapped the person. Instead, the person was using explicit language leading to a tiff.

The issue has been reported to FWICE and they await an apology now.

We contacted actress, Daljeet Kaur, who plays the lead in the show, who said, "I am totally unaware about any of this. It is news to me. We were shooting on this Tuesday, but this whole issue must have happened outside the sets while we were shooting inside."
