There is major reshuffling of NDTV Imagine
shows, with Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi turning daily while Ek Packet Umeed is shutting down for the moment.
Mona Vasu who plays the eldest daughter in the above DJ show confirmed the news. “The story will get more interesting now and I will get my job back”, she reveals. Manish Paul
who for some time played her tormenting photographer added that the unit has already started shooting for the daily schedule which will air at the same 8.30 pm slot. Ask him when his track will return, and he says, “I have left it entirely to Tony and Deeya”.
On Umeed our khabru says, “The channel had asked Hats Off Production to try making it a daily as the weekly format was not working, but the production house refused to do it as budgetary constraints came in the way. “Our show is expensive as Sarabhai. It was also difficult to get bulk dates of the 11 major caste”, says our well-placed source from the production house.
On the reasons for the show not dong well (0.6 TRP) the source said, “There is no recall value for Umeed in the current format, people simply forget to tune in. May be women are still not ready to accept something different”. Rakesh Bapat who was part of the show earlier felt that the story line was weak. “The entry of COLORS had made matters much worse”, he says.
There is also a speculation that the new Muslim social, Chand Ke Par Chalo might air at the 10.30 pm slot which means that that the Rajshri show Main Teri Parchhain Hoon might have to be moved to another time slot. Kavita Barjatya
says that she too has heard such talk but asked us to contact the channel.
