Actor Jatin Sharma, who hails from Rajasthan, rose to fame with his royal character Nawab Samar Pratap Singh in Channel V's The Buddy Project Season 1, and recently garnered much appreciation for his stint in Sudhi Sharma's Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha Season 2 on Colors.
On conclusion of the second season of the show, we hear, "Jatin Sharma will next be seen playing the character of the
legendary artist M.F.Husain in an upcoming ambitious venture."
When contacted Jatin, the actor says, "Yes, I'm essaying the role of the legendary artist
M.F.Husain in an upcoming documentary film. It is produced by Barkha Roy and directed
by Bhavna Shreshtha, the movie is titled as My Friend Husain."
We also hear, "As the actor bears a great resemblance to M.F.Husain, he will be seen sporting long hair coupled with the trademark stubble."
On being asked Jatin about how did he bag this role, he says, "From
quite a while, the makers were looking out for someone who would look alike to
M.F.Husain. Since I'm actively involved in more of theater, after I gave the auditions, they found me quite suitable for this particular role. I have always believed in
doing quality work by experimenting with different characters. Being
too young in reality and portraying an elderly personality was a challenge, but I enjoyed it."
Talking more about
this project, which is based on Husain's journey with friends, Jatin went on
say, "Actually, Husain Saab used to always jokingly tell his close
friends in the cinema to make a movie on him. And as we know, he had a strong desire to live
his last days in India. So, his friends from the Indian art fraternity, who had
the privilege to know him from close quarters have shared some information about
him in this documentary that nobody else has known till now. So for me, it is
an honor to play M.F.Husain."
The duration of the short film 'My Friend Husain' will last for 1 hour and ten minutes and is slated to hit the floors very soon!
