He cut a forlorn picture at the launch of Ekta Kapoor's Ek Thi Naayika launch the other evening. While the cameras were all focused on the leading ladies of the series, Amar looked totally neglected as he stood alone at a distance.
However, when Tellybuzz approached him he was more than excited to talk about what is happening in his life, "Well, as of now I am excited about Ek Thi Naayika. It feels great to work with Smriti Zubin Irani again as our jodi was very popular and people are waiting to see us together. Also the combination of me, Smriti, Ekta Kapoor, Balaji Telefilms and Star Plus (since Life OK is part of Star) has done tremendously well earlier and we hope to recreate the magic again."
"I was happy to receive the call and even if it is for a two episode story involving a shoot of only 4-5 days I was eager to be a part of it and didn't even ask how much the payment would be" confesses Amar.
Amar who was last seen in reality shows like Bigg Boss Season 5 and recently in Welcome – Baazi Mehman Nawazi Ki is keen on doing reality shows rather than fiction, "I am also involved in realty business, dealing with properties and have other business interests so I am comfortable doing reality shows which don't need fixed commitments. If it is a fiction show I would prefer doing an extended cameo for 4-5 months instead of doing long running soaps."
"I was offered Jhalak Dikhla Ja for the past three years but I could not do it for various reasons. I am waiting for them to offer it to me again this year as I can accept the offer now" concludes Amar.
Are the Jhalak makers listening?
