Sony postpones 'Crime Patrol' episode on Delhi gang-rape

Popular TV crime show "Crime Patrol Dastak", which was scheduled to show an episode based on the Delhi gang-rape case, has postponed the telecast citing "unavoidable reasons".

    the only sensitivity involved is the political seats of the govt...otherwise there is no sensitivity left in the case..the girl lost her dignity in life and after death due to the insensitivity involved in fact...the system sucks big time...the fact tht the most brutal of all the creatures accused is not being tried coz he still hasnt lived on this earth for 18 years yet shows the stupidity of the system...

    This is very sad that i & b ministry is trying
    to not spread the inside details of the case
    that is why they r stopping the telecast but
    hats off to cp team to focus & bring such
    gruesome & disgusting crime.

    This is a good decision. It would be hard for parents or family to watch such an episode considering they buried their daughter only two weeks ago. There has been so much outcry and frustration on this unfortunate and savage crime that its best not to air it right now.
    Also there is no court decision and the trial proceedings are behind closed doors. I would like the show to air when the trial is closer to finishing so we can get more facts than fiction.

    Mainly I want the episode to focus on what India is doing to protect women and how this has reshaped India's thinking about women and violence. We know the details and I dont want to hear about them over and over because its really graphic and horrific and reduces the victim's memory to that of being a 'gang rape' victim.

    Finally I would like the media etc to refrain from calling this girl 'the gang rape' victim. Its very demeaning and has reduced the victim to a violent inhumane act against women.

    There was more to her than being 'gang raped'.

    The outcry hasn't died down so maybe this decision was taken to prevent adding fuel to the fire. How very typical. I was looking forward to the episode 'coz I know this wasn't for sensationalism or TRPs. I have followed Crime Patrol enough to know that the show actually believes in making a difference. AnywaySmile

    I was so looking forward to watching it today because I wanted to know the whole story. There are so many versions that would have liked the actual version.
