Happy to know ur mom is a Fan of Ram and Priya and BALH.. Y isn't BALH tagged in this article too?? And seriously if TV is not progressive, y do u host shows on TV, y does film stars come to TV to promote their movies? I feel TV has more reach to the viewers and connect well with audiences than movies.

Agree on one thing.. TV is ruled by TRPs which is not good.. Many good shows are shut down coz of low TRPs which should not be done. Hope system changes.

well that's true, now a days our bollywood films r based on current events or topics which r closely related to commom mans life (except some movies which worst than any cartoon film & still they are called blockbusters on d basis of money made by their so-called directors & producers who r mainly busy in watching tollywood films for stealing purpose...)

But serials on TV are still in the era of 1970's or 80's. I mean there r rare sensible things on TV which can watched with entire family together... not even Family drama's where they hav cropped OVER ACTORS when we need ACTORS and appointed DIRECTORS who r busy in repeating d same storylines again nd again...

Well all this is for TV channel's beloved TRP where very few know what it actually means and how it actually gets calculated...

i agree to some extent...tv appeals to a larger audience n hence is a good marketing n promotion device 4 films...but being a part of fiction is not really a great idea...the producers rum 4 TRPs which r garnered by oldies watching dramatic ott soap operas in the evening...there is no scope 4 brainy or experimental stuff...good shows like maryada,IPK,MB,teri meri love stories r notr appreciated but shows in which the heroine keeps bawling n crying buckets or wears so much of ghunghat that her face is nmot visible n works round the clock in the kitchen doing haan maaji to her stupid MIL or whatever crap they show these days in yeh rishta,sasural...DABH or saathiya garner the highest tRPs...wow!!!is this what we ldo in rreal life?why is tv so regressive n is going bbackwards day by day...the highest trp is shown by a saathiya or a dabh where the lady cannot stand up 4 herself n is afraid all the time or leaves her dreams, education, etc to settle in with a sweet maker n manage his household chores!wtf?can any of us relate to this picture?NO!where r the stories of ppl like u n i,how we live, how we study, how we fall in love?n by falling in love inm not saying the trip, catch, eyelock sequence!!
tv shows these days r dunb, senseless n stupid n by ccounting an average of what a certain section of a 7000 home audience like to watch at a particular tym,how can u predict the preferences of a billon ppl of the country
    ?

In that case, I hope he never uses "regressive" TV again for promoting his "progressive" films. Agreed that the TV industry has a lot of flaws, but Bollywood is no better. If they live for TRPs, you live for the Box-office.

Karan admitted that the television audience is vast so naturally the film industry has to cash in on that medium to publicize their product. Nothing wrong in that because they are also in the number game.
