Tellybuzz earlier reported about the remake of Metti Oli for Sony TV getting shelved due to copy right issues. The latest we hear is about UTV coming up with a new show for Star Desh…

Yes, you have heard it right. UTV is the next production house to occupy a slot in the long list of new shows to be launched on the revamped Star Desh. We hear that this will again be a remake of a show from South.

A little birdie revealing about the show informs, "The show is again a family drama tentatively titled as Amar Prem. The show is all about a boy who is mentally insane, who hails from a very rich family. On the other hand, there is a family which consists of one grandmother, parents and their three daughters".

"Their elder daughter gets a proposal of this guy and the family decides their marriage without finding the truth behind such a rich person's proposal coming for their rather simple daughter. Later on it gets revealed that the guy is a psycho".

We tried contacting Mayuree Chaddha, Fiction Head, UTV but she remained unavailable.

Presently, the show is at its audition stage to get its ensemble cast.

yaar star one rocked...a full channel 4 youth based shows...this star desh sounds so weird..!! seems lyk ny regional channel shown in sum remote area...plzzz don't do this revamp... it sounds disastrous...!!!

I read the same thing, but the site in question deleted that story, so it's probably still open whether Sriti is in it or not.
The show itself seems rather sadistic - and since the guy is a person suffering from an illness rather than an actual villain, it may even show her as being a willing doormat. In which case it's no good. Not unless she's willing to rebel against being tricked this way, and pull out of that family, the way Sriti's character did in RS.

Seriously I think Star One ...uhh... Star 'Desh' xI is ruining itself and itz so gonna regret later! V hav enuf family drama on the TV to hav more cumin thru! Star One was just the fresh break v needed but denn... :/

Its gonna be a flop like dor...!! Same age old concept... Koshish, bano mai teri dulhan, bidaai, karol bagh, etc... Why star network u r ruining the essensce of star one?? Only trp and money...!!

I just read an article some where that Karnvir Bohra and Sriti Jha are going to be the leads for this show..I am so excited I love Sriti jha...Yuppiiee great to know she is back after RS...All the Best
