Kanya, the protagonist of Sony’s new serial ‘Kuchh Is Tara’ dreams of her Prince Charming, and a life filled with romance and love. But her life sees a twist, as with ‘Pyaar’, comes the ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’, when her love comes face to face with the ‘Hate Guru’, played by Akashdeep Saigal.

Dimple Jhangiani, the fresh face who plays the role of Kanya in the serial says, “Kanya is a girl with many aspirations in life; she falls in love with Aayan(played by another newcomer, Vishal Singh) and there is all happiness in their lives, that is when bad luck in the form of the ‘Hate Guru’ strikes”. Dimple Jhangiani who has set a record of sorts by doing 22 ads in one single year is very delighted and surprised too, as she recollects the way she got this role. “There were 700 girls who had auditioned for this particular role; but Ekta saw my INS Institute hoarding before her office, and she wanted to try me for this role. It took them nearly 30+ days to get my contact number”, says an excited Dimple. “I feel very lucky, but at the same time, I need to work very hard, as I am totally a non-actor. I used to stand before the mirror for days, to see whether I looked good while talking, smiling etc”, adds the actress.

Speaking about her co-actors, Dimple says, “Vishal and me are total newcomers, but the other seniors in the cast like Akashdeep, Jayati Bhatia, Sudha Chandran are really sweet and they help us a lot”. The girl who had aimed to be an air hostess does not want to look back, but just concentrate on the work on hand and do well. “I want to make good use of this opportunity. I am happy that I get to play a role that is unlike me in real life. While Kanya is very soft spoken, I tend to get loud and wild in real life. So I have a good chance to portray a character that is so different”, says Dimple.
