Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 9 (IANS) The most exciting part of physics is not dealing with the extraordinary phenomenon, but the discovery of the truth behind the ordinary and everyday things, said renowned theoretical physicist Prof E.C.G. Sudarshan.

A professor of physics at the University of Texas at Austin, the 81-year-old scientist is in Kerala for a three-day National Colloquium on Theoretical Physics organised here.

Addressing students, research scholars and science teachers here Friday, Sudarshan urged all young scientists to keep their curiosity alive and aspire to become discoverers, and not simply science managers or administrators.

"The rewards of science are not something that people hand you but it is the sense of adventure that comes with being a scientist and the ability to be forever curious. There is no retirement in science," he said.
