Chandigarh, Sep 12 (IANS) The Haryana government Tuesday appointed a three-member panel of senior officers to adjudicate cyber related offences in the state.
A state official said the panel had been set up as a number of information technology and business process outsourcing (BPO) companies were operating in the state, especially in Gurgaon, and cyber crimes were on the rise.
The officers included Financial Commissioner P.K. Chaudhary, Special Secretary Anurag Rastogi and Senior Additional Advocate General Arun Walia.
The officers will have the powers of civil court and all matters under them will be deemed to be judicial proceedings.
The panel will hold enquiries on cyber crime cases registered under the Information Technology Act in the state.
