Chennai, Sep 5 (IANS) Hexaware Technologies Ltd, a global provider of BPO and IT services, and Borland Software India Private Ltd Tuesday announced a strategic alliance under which Borland's Indian subsidiary will provide management solution services to Hexaware.
The partnership was necessary to fulfil the customer demand for modernisation of computer software, P.K. Sridharan, Hexaware's executive director for global delivery, told reporters.
At a centre of excellence the two firms have set up here, Borland will train 2,000 Hexaware technical staff to work on upgraded Borland platforms.
'The programme will support legacy modernisation challenges that large companies face today,' said Hexaware Technologies senior vice-president R.V. Ramanan.
The platform reforms will also help Hexaware and Borland expand their business in Asia-Pacific, company officials said.
'The Centre of Excellence will serve as technology incubation hub,' Borland India managing director Satyen Parikh said.
Hexaware's customers are banking and financial institutions. It requires the latest software for its enterprise application solutions, which Borland will provide. Hexaware will provide the hardware resources for the centre.
