Islamabad, Feb 7 (IANS) At least one policeman was killed and seven people were injured Thursday night in a bomb blast in Pakistan's port city of Karachi, media reports said.
The blast took place around 9.30 p.m. in Orangi Town area when a police mobile unit with three policemen was passing through, Xinhua reported.
The bomb was triggered by a remote control and explosives were hidden in a garbage heap.
The injured, including two policemen and five civilians, were taken to a hospital.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to a report release by Karachi police in December 2012, over 100 policemen were killed in incidents of gunfire and bomb blasts in the city last year.
