New Delhi, Nov 26 (IANS) A 12−year−old girl was killed in celebratory firing by her cousin at a wedding here, police said Monday. The shooter is absconding.

Shivi received bullet injury around 10.45 p.m. Sunday at the ceremony organised in I.P. Motel banquet situated in west Delhi's Mundka.

"The bullet pierced Shivi's heart, causing her death on the spot," said a police officer.

Her cousin, Shankar, was making celebratory firing using his uncle's pistol when one of the bullets fired by him accidentally hit the girl, added the officer.

A hunt was launched to nab Shankar, who lived in the same house as the girl in west Delhi's Moti Nagar.
