Dubai, Nov 12 (IANS/WAM) The Emirates Group Monday posted a net profit of 2.1-billion dirhams ($575 million) for the first six months of current fiscal year ending Sep 30.
The figure was up by 68 percent compared to 1.3 billion dirhams in the corresponding period. Despite global economic pressure, the group's revenue and other operating income rose to 38.2 billion dirhams, an increase of 16 percent over the last year's results.
"The Emirates Group half-year performance is the result of hard work and our drive to stay on course and continue to grow despite the precarious marketplace," said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman, Emirates Airline and Group.
