President to hold meet of central universities

New Delhi, Feb 4 (IANS) With its focus on improving quality of education, President Pranab Mukherjee will host a conference of vice chancellors of 40 central universities here Tuesday.

New Delhi, Feb 4 (IANS) With its focus on improving quality of education, President Pranab Mukherjee will host a conference of vice chancellors of 40 central universities here Tuesday.

"The agenda includes steps required to improve the quality of education and faculty in central universities to bring them on par with the top universities of the world," a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement said.

The last such conference was convened in 2003 by then president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Human Resource Development Minister M. M. Pallam Raju will attend the conference.
