Nine bodies found after boat capsize in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Dec 19 (IANS) At least nine bodies, including of a pregnant woman, were recovered from the water off a Malaysian town after a boat carrying around 16 undocumented Indonesian immigrants capsized, Xinhua reported Wednesday.

Kuala Lumpur, Dec 19 (IANS) At least nine bodies, including of a pregnant woman, were recovered from the water off a Malaysian town after a boat carrying around 16 undocumented Indonesian immigrants capsized, Xinhua reported Wednesday.

The Malaysian marine police retrieved the bodies from the water off Johor state's Bandar Penawar town.

The victims were believed to be heading to Indonesia's Batam island when the boat capsized Tuesday evening after being hit by strong waves, police said.

The search for the missing people was on till last reports came in.
