24 killed in Ghana road accident

Accra, Jan 21 (IANS) As many as 24 people were killed and seven, including a year-old child, injured in an accident in Ghana early Monday, police said.

Accra, Jan 21 (IANS) As many as 24 people were killed and seven, including a year-old child, injured in an accident in Ghana early Monday, police said.

The accident occurred when Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, a heavy commercial vehicle, had a head-on collision with a truck carrying cattle, Xinhua quoted police as saying. The injured were rushed to hospital.

Two of the injured were in critical condition, a hospital official said.
