I was watching Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and was surprised at the amount of swearing. I was thinking of watching the film with my mum and little sister but I'm glad I didn't. I don't mind the occasional swearing but they just went overboard like after every sentence and it wasn't even needed.

There is already a lot of controversy about explicit scenes in Bollywood films and now with all the swearing is Bollywood trying to imitate Hollywood too much? And do you think Bollywood is successfully moving away from the typical family films? And is this a good thing?

You're talking about Aditi abusing that guy in the beginning? That was pretty loud, but it was meant to be like a joke...

But yeah, i agree, there IS a lot of swearing in hindi movies nowadays! While english movies have the beep going off each time (Really, that made departed the toughest to watch)... Hindi movies just get the "A" rating... So you'll have to listen to them even if you don't want to... =|

Havent seen the film yet, but Gauri's reference to this song hascertianly whet my appetite!LOL

Swearing in Indian languages always sounds worse to my ears than when I hear it in English...probably because I am used to the latter and not the former.

I think it really depends on the script writer and the story plot but I agree its a bit too much and Bollywood shouldn't imitate Hollywood, Bollywood should represent their culture and show family values more often.

i havent seen the movie yet
but even in PG and PG-13 american movies they curse a lot more than indian movies
if someone says ass in an american movie it doesnt even sound bad
so if someone says the same in a hindi movie then it should also not be considered bad
