and you will not believe it the senior is known as 'neelambari' - same character like in 'Padaiyappa', (though story is different) there is going to be a meek simple middle class woman. its a story of clashes between 2 generations it seems. Ramya said, she accepted this because of the 'neelambari' which made her famous.

Ramya Krishnan will be the heroine of a new mega serial to be aired in Sun Tv on week days at 8.30 pm from June 14th. Named Kalasam, it revolves around women oriented issues and Ramya Krishna plays the role of a working woman fighting for women's rights and justice. It has a storyline aimed at the female audience.

Actress Ramya Krishna is all excited with venturing back into Tamil television. "Things are happening at the same time and I am happy with my television project," says Ramya Krishna. Besides daily soap Kalasam, the talented actress has also signed Tamil movie Arumugham. Much like the character of Neelambari of Padayappa, Ramya said the role had the intensity to match the one five years ago. "It is the story of a woman with principles, unwilling to compromise come what may." Of the TV sojourn, Ramya saw it as a good chance to get a foothold again after the game show Thanga Vettai. "My three-year-old son Ritwik had been getting my undivided attention all along. Now he has grown up and can manage when I am absent for," she said. According to sources, the talented actress has surpassed Simran when it comes to remuneration.
